GDVN - Through active learning methods and a spirit of self-study, Vo Huu Thang became the valedictorian of the Political Science major at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

On the afternoon of July 29, 2026, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, the Faculty of Politics and International Studies held a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with IGO Investment and Technology Joint Stock Company, opening a framework for strategic cooperation in the fields of training, scientific research, and human resource development.

On July 20, 2026, in Ta Dung commune, Lam Dong province, a delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu – Head of the Faculty of Politics and International Studies, conducted a survey and collected information to support the analysis and evaluation of the implementation of Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 65-KL/TW of the Politburo on ethnic affairs. The activity aimed to contribute to proposing orientations, tasks, and solutions for reforming and improving ethnic policies, meeting the requirements of national development in the new period.

From July 12th to 17th, 2026, a delegation from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (USSH), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Thanh Nam - Vice Rector of the University, participated in the final round of the 10th Youth Innovation Competition on Lancang-Mekong Region's Governance and Development (YICMG 2026) at Wuhan University, China.

Three years as a doctoral student meant three years of field trips, numerous revisions of manuscripts, and moments of self-doubt. But for Dr. Tran My Hai Loc – a newly awarded PhD in International Studies by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for her outstanding achievements – what remains after that journey is not just the doctoral degree, but also the companionship of a VNU-USSH academic community always ready to support and assist students.

The year 2026 marks a significant milestone in the development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, with the official establishment of the Faculty of Politics and International Studies through the merger of the Faculty of Political Science and the Faculty of International Studies. This is not only an organizational event but also a new step forward, building upon the academic foundations that have been developed and nurtured over more than three decades.

From June 18th to 21st, 2026, scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities conducted research, surveys, and data collection activities at the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and several communes in Can Tho City.

As part of their field trip to China from May 7-11, 2026, a delegation of lecturers and students from the K68 cohort of the Faculty of Politics and International Studies had the special opportunity to visit and work at the Vietnamese Consulate General in Shanghai. This activity was included in the practical program to help students gain closer access to the realities of diplomatic work.

The national scientific conference with the theme "Connecting and promoting the cultural values ​​and resources of Phu Tho province to serve tourism and socio-economic development in the new era" was held on April 10, 2026 at Hung Vuong University with the participation of numerous scientists, experts, managers, and representatives from training institutions nationwide.

In the context of Vietnam's accelerated reforms of the state apparatus, digital transformation, green transformation, and deep international integration, the need for a workforce capable of planning, implementing, and evaluating policies is becoming increasingly urgent. The scientific seminar "Training and Career Opportunities for Human Resources in Public Policy, Public Management, and Global Management" took place on the morning of April 9, 2026, organized by the Faculty of Politics and International Studies - University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
