The University of Social Sciences and Humanities strengthens its research and policy advisory activities on ethnic minorities.

From June 18th to 21st, 2026, scientists from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities conducted research, surveys, and data collection activities at the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and several communes in Can Tho City.

This activity is part of a Ministry-level science and technology project on “Research and evaluation of the implementation results of Resolution 24-NQ/TW and Conclusion 65-KL/TW dated October 30, 2019, of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution 24-NQ/TW of the IX Central Committee on ethnic affairs in the new situation; proposing key objectives, tasks, and solutions for ethnic affairs to meet the requirements of national development in the new era”. The lead organization and project management board is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu – Head of the Department of Politics and International Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The survey was attended and co-chaired by Mr. Tran Van Doai, M.Sc. – Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Policies, Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religion; Mr. Tran Khac Trung – Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion of Can Tho City; Ms. Chau Ngoc Hong – Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Ninh Commune, along with representatives from local specialized agencies.

The purpose of this survey is to focus on clarifying: the current state of organization and implementation, and the results, effectiveness, and impact of implementing Resolution 24-NQ/TW and Conclusion 65-KL/TW dated October 30, 2019, of the Politburo on continuing to implement Resolution 24-NQ/TW of the IX Central Committee on ethnic affairs in the new situation; analyzing and forecasting the new context and identifying the fundamental and urgent issues facing ethnic affairs; and proposing viewpoints, directions, objectives, tasks, and key breakthrough solutions for ethnic affairs to meet the requirements of national development in the new era.

The comprehensive evaluation of the implementation results of Resolution 24-NQ/TW and Conclusion 65-KL/TW, carried out by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in various localities, is one of the important contents for the University to build policy advisory reports, providing scientific and practical arguments to serve the research and development of new resolutions of the Party and State on ethnic affairs to meet the requirements of national development in the new era.
