According toRegulations on the ethics of teachersAccording to regulations recently issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, teachers must be fair in teaching and education, accurately assess the true abilities of learners, and avoid causing difficulties or inconvenience to learners and the public.

When performing their duties, teachers should wear simple, neat, and polite clothing and accessories that are appropriate for the teaching profession, and that do not cause offense or distract students' attention.

Furthermore, teachers must not retaliate against, oppress, or show favoritism, discrimination, or prejudice towards students; they must not abet or cover up negative behaviors in teaching, learning, and training of students and colleagues; and they must not violate the physical integrity, or insult the honor and dignity of students, colleagues, and others.

The document also states that teachers are not allowed to organize extra classes or tutoring sessions contrary to regulations; they are not allowed to smoke or drink alcohol in the workplace or school; and they are not allowed to use mobile phones or engage in personal activities during meetings, classes, teaching, invigilating, or grading exams.

It is understood that regulations on teacher ethics serve as a basis for teachers to strive for self-improvement, and are also one of the bases for evaluating, classifying, and supervising teachers so that they truly serve as role models for students to follow.
