On August 25th, 27th, and 29th, 2008, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized training for academic advisors of the QH-2008-X cohort. These teachers will be responsible for advising and assisting the students who are about to enroll this year on all matters related to their studies as well as their daily lives.

The training content included: key issues in student counseling; differences in student learning tasks; discussion of the orientation program for students; course registration procedures and training plan for students on course registration; and basic issues of the Regulations on credit-based undergraduate training at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

During the 2007-2008 academic year, the academic counseling work was assessed as having correctly identified and successfully implemented the main tasks of academic counseling. The team of academic counselors promptly carried out the tasks assigned by the University, helping students to better adapt to the new training methods. One of the important initial successes was the university's realization of communication channels between academic counselors and students; many academic counselors performed well in providing regular and ad-hoc counseling to students.

Entering the 2008-2009 academic year, for the 2007 cohort, the academic advisor's role will focus on innovating the working methods between advisors and students, enhancing group and individual counseling through various approaches. For the 2008 cohort, from the beginning of the academic year, academic advisors will focus on supporting students in developing skills to effectively utilize the Internet and information channels, guiding students to master the course registration process early on so that they can proactively choose their courses.
