ABOUT OPIc

The Computer-Based Oral Proficiency Test (OPIc) developed by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages ​​(ACTFL) has officially been held in Vietnam. OPIc is a computer-based test administered via the internet, has a wide scoring scale, and provides reliable test results. The test was developed to meet the world's growing need for foreign language proficiency assessment.

Main features of the test

Before starting the test, candidates complete a background knowledge survey and a self-assessment section. Based on the candidate's level and concerns, each candidate will be given a set of appropriate questions.

• Background Survey: Provides questions about the candidate’s work, studies, family, personal activities, and interests. The candidate completes the survey and the answers to this section will be the basis for determining the topics of the test; from there, the computer will randomly select questions for the candidate. In the case that two candidates choose the same answer in the background survey, the question packages of the two candidates will not be the same.
• Self-Assessment: This section provides descriptors for each language proficiency level. Candidates select the descriptor that they think best describes their language ability.
