The Admissions Counseling Board of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) will answer questions from May 24th to June 8th, 2012. Gjn Black @ 09:58, 25/05/2012: Teacher, I would like to ask, does our school publish the competition ratio for each department before the university entrance exam? Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:The departments at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have many different exam blocks, so the competition ratio often doesn't accurately reflect a candidate's chances of admission. Furthermore, starting from this year's entrance exam, candidates who don't get admitted to their registered major have the opportunity to transfer to other majors with available slots if their exam score is at or above the minimum score set by the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Moreover, the competition ratio, if not calculated by block, is not very meaningful because it depends on the exam score. Therefore, the University will not publish the competition ratio for each major in the 2012 university entrance exam. I wish you continued perseverance in your choice and high results in the upcoming university entrance exam.Le Hong Phong @ 21:19, May 25, 2012: I would like to ask: Last year I passed the entrance exam for Psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Hanoi with a score of 19, but because I was also busy studying a college-level program in Thai Binh that same year, I couldn't study both majors simultaneously due to circumstances. This year I have finished my college program in Thai Binh and really want to study Psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Hanoi. Can I use my exam results from last year for admission, since I still have my acceptance letter? I hope the professors can answer clearly for me. Thank you. Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:Since you did not complete the enrollment procedures and did not request a deferment of your university entrance exam results, your exam results are no longer valid for this year. If you want to study Psychology at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, your only option is to retake the university entrance exam.tuan @ 18:07, 26/05/2012, tran ngoc anh @ 18:33, 26/05/2012: Dear teachers, I heard that to get into the tourism industry, you need a good appearance: height, pretty... But I'm quite short, only about 1.53m, and not very pretty either. So, after passing the entrance exam for the tourism department, will I be able to work as a tour guide? Thank you! Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:All majors at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities do not have any specific requirements regarding physical characteristics such as height, weight, etc. Although tourism students with good looks may have a certain advantage in finding job opportunities after graduation, it is not the deciding factor. I wish you always feel confident in your choice.Vuong Thuy Du @ 20:33, May 26, 2012: Dear Professors, I am a first-year Philosophy student. I wish to enroll in a second major, Clinical Psychology, after completing my first year. Is this possible? Could you please clarify this for me, as my first year is ending in just a few days? Thank you very much! Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:Currently, the field of Psychology does not offer a dual degree program.Luong Anh @ 10:53, May 29, 2012: Hello teacher. I have a question that I hope you can help me answer. I am currently a first-year student at the university. I would like to pursue a double degree in Chinese at Hanoi University of Foreign Languages. - In which year will I be able to start registering for courses? What are the requirements for me to be eligible to register for the course? - When are applications accepted? How are tuition fees calculated? - The classes are in the evening, right, teacher? Those are my questions, and I hope you can answer them so I can plan my studies for the future. Thank you, teacher! Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:Regarding the requirements for registering for a double degree program, you can find them in the Student Handbook or in the University Training Regulations of VNU.University Training PortalTypically, the dual degree program admissions take place in September each year. When admissions are planned, the university posts announcements on its website and sends notifications to students via email. Additionally, you can meet with Mr. Pham Van Hue at the Training Department during the student consultation hours to learn more about this type of program.Page @ 14:18, 29/05/2012: I failed the exam last year and I'm reapplying this year. I need to bring my high school diploma for the invigilators to verify. However, my high school hasn't issued my diploma yet. Can I bring my temporary graduation certificate from last year to the exam this time? Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:If you haven't received your high school diploma yet, you can use a temporary graduation certificate or request a confirmation of high school graduation from your high school. Good luck!Thanh Tam @ 16:47, May 31, 2012: Teachers, could you please tell me what the competition ratio is for our school this year? Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:The departments at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities have many different exam blocks, so the competition ratio often doesn't accurately reflect a candidate's chances of admission. Furthermore, starting from this year's entrance exam, candidates who are not admitted to their registered major have the opportunity to register for other majors with available slots if their exam score is above the minimum score set by the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Therefore, to avoid negatively impacting the psychology of many candidates, the University will not publish the competition ratio for each major in the 2012 university entrance exam. We wish you to remain steadfast in your choice and achieve high results in the upcoming university entrance exam.Thanh Ha @ 06:36, June 1, 2012: Dear teachers, I will be taking the entrance exam for your university this year. Although I really like the journalism major, I don't feel confident enough to apply for it, so I've switched to Social Work. I really enjoy participating in community work. I would like to ask what specific jobs are available for Social Work graduates at our university in companies and government organizations? Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:You can find information about career opportunities and a video introducing the field of Social Work at the following address:http://ussh.vnu.edu.vn/nganh-cong-tac-xa-hoi/1692I wish you success.Huynh Thi Ngoc Lan @ 00:23, June 2, 2012: Dear teachers, I just graduated from university with a degree in accounting this year. I wish to become an officer. Which school should I apply to? What subjects will I need to take the exams in, and what procedures do I need to follow? Thank you very much, teachers. Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:The University of Social Sciences and Humanities currently does not offer majors that match your undergraduate program. Therefore, you need to research at your previous university or other universities in the economics and business fields to find a suitable major. Good luck!ThuyDung @ 12:49, June 2, 2012: I would like to ask the teachers about the enrollment plan for the second degree program at our school in 2012. How many enrollment periods will there be, and what are the specific dates? What time of day are classes held for the full-time second degree program? Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:As I understand it, you're asking about the university's dual degree program. Typically, dual degree enrollment takes place in September each year. When enrollment is announced, the university posts the information on its website and sends notifications to students via email. Additionally, you can meet with Professor Pham Van Hue at the Training Department during the student consultation hours to learn more about this type of program.Dang An Khanh @ 15:48, 02/06/2012: Dear teachers! Now I want to study for a teaching certificate but I can't find any information about the school's enrollment. So I would like to ask if the school is offering any teaching certificate courses in June 2012? If so, I would like to know the details as soon as possible because I need to study urgently. Is there any way to do that? If not, if I pass the exam at school A, can I apply to school B as my second choice? Mr. Nguyen Van Hong, Training Department:Since you cannot change your registered university choice, your only option is to take the university entrance exam at the school you registered for. Good luck!Lí Conl @ 15:33, 05/06/2012: I would like to ask if the journalism university program is still offered in Soc Trang province? If so, in which year will it open? I find it very difficult to choose a university because there are very few schools offering this major. I would greatly appreciate your answer. Thank you!
