To celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; the Ministry of Education and Training in coordination with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi organized an exhibition of images and documents with the theme "Uncle Ho with education, education with Uncle Ho".

On the journey of national liberation, national establishment and development, President Ho Chi Minh always placed education in an important pillar position. Right after the country's independence, President Ho Chi Minh considered "eradicating illiteracy" a strategic task parallel to "eradicating hunger" and "eradicating foreign invaders", and affirmed that only "cultivating people" could foster national vitality. That thought was expressed through: The letters that President Ho Chi Minh sent to the education sector; the Decree on Popular Education (September 8, 1945) inaugurated the largest illiteracy eradication campaign in history; two educational reforms (1950, 1956) to create an education based on the philosophy: national - scientific - popular; the movement "Teach well - Learn well" (1961) to promote the quality of teaching and learning right in the midst of war. More than half a century has passed, but President Ho Chi Minh's philosophy of "learning goes hand in hand with practice, lifelong learning" and his ideal of "being both red and expert" are still the guiding principles for all educational innovation programs, illuminating the goal of building a learning society, a knowledge-based economy and sustainable integration in Vietnam today.
In order to honor and spread those everlasting values, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; the Ministry of Education and Training; the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi jointly organized the thematic exhibition "UNCLE HO WITH EDUCATION - EDUCATION WITH UNCLE HO".
Time: From May 9 to May 12, 2025
Location: Hall E1, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 336 Nguyen Trai, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi
Implementing unit: Museum of History and Culture
The exhibition space is built as a journey, helping viewers answer fundamental questions: How did President Ho Chi Minh's ideology lay the foundation for the modern Vietnamese education system? Why did President Ho Chi Minh consider education to be the "foundation of independence and happiness"? And what is the meaning of the concept of "lifelong learning" in the present era?
Through images and documents, the Exhibition hopes to bring to the public rich historical slices, and at the same time be a source of inspiration to promote joint action to continue the work of "cultivating people", nurturing the aspiration to build a liberal, national, humane and creative education - the foundation for Vietnam to "stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers" as President Ho Chi Minh's testament.
