To commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department and the Ministry of Education and Training, in coordination with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, are organizing an exhibition of images and documents with the theme "Uncle Ho with education, education with Uncle Ho".

Throughout the journey of national liberation, nation-building, and development, President Ho Chi Minh always placed education in a crucial position. Immediately after the country gained independence, President Ho Chi Minh considered "eradicating illiteracy" a strategic task alongside "eradicating hunger" and "eradicating foreign invaders," while affirming that only by "cultivating people" could the nation's vital energy be nurtured. This ideology is reflected in: the letters President Ho Chi Minh sent to the education sector; the Decree on Popular Education (September 8, 1945) which launched the largest literacy campaign in history; two educational reforms (1950, 1956) that built an education system based on the philosophy of nationalism, science, and mass participation; and the "Good Teaching - Good Learning" movement (1961) which emphasized the quality of teaching and learning even amidst the flames of war. More than half a century has passed, yet President Ho Chi Minh's philosophy of "learning goes hand in hand with practice, lifelong learning" and his ideal of "being both politically sound and professionally competent" remain the guiding principles for all educational reform programs, illuminating the goals of building a learning society, a knowledge-based economy, and sustainable integration in Vietnam today.
To honor and spread these enduring values, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; the Ministry of Education and Training; and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, are jointly organizing a thematic exhibition "HO CHI MINH AND EDUCATION - EDUCATION WITH HO CHI MINH".
Time: From May 9th to May 12th, 2025
Location: Hall E1, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, 336 Nguyen Trai Street, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi
Executing unit: Museum of History and Culture
The exhibition space is structured as a journey, helping viewers answer fundamental questions: How did President Ho Chi Minh's ideology lay the foundation for the modern Vietnamese education system? Why did President Ho Chi Minh consider education to be "the foundation of independence and happiness"? And what is the significance of the "lifelong learning" concept in the present era?
Through images and documents, the exhibition hopes to provide the public with rich historical insights, while also inspiring collective action to continue the "nurturing of human resources," fostering the aspiration to build a liberal, national, humane, and creative education system – the foundation for Vietnam to "stand shoulder to shoulder with the great powers of the world," as instructed by President Ho Chi Minh.
