On June 16th, the Seijong Korean Language Center in Hanoi, affiliated with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, held its closing ceremony for the fourth course and awarded certificates to over 53 students across various levels. The Seijong Korean Language Center in Hanoi was established in 2011, based on a cooperation program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Pusan University of Foreign Studies, South Korea, with the sponsorship and assistance of the Seijong Institute of Korean Studies. This institute, under the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, functions to support and promote the image of Korea, particularly through the development of Korean language and culture abroad. The Seijong Korean Language Center in Hanoi is responsible for teaching Korean language in a non-intensive manner through courses and issuing certificates at each level. Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam, Director of the Center, stated: "Because it was formed and developed on the basis of close cooperation between two major universities in Vietnam and South Korea, the Center offers many advantages to its students. The instructors are native speakers with high expertise and teaching skills, carefully selected to meet the professional standards of Pusan University of Foreign Studies and the Seijong Institute of Korean Studies." If students continuously complete courses from beginner to advanced levels, within one year they will have sufficient Korean language proficiency to study at Pusan University of Foreign Studies and many other universities in South Korea. Pusan University of Foreign Studies also offers preferential tuition fee reductions and dormitory arrangements for Vietnamese students who have previously participated in Korean language courses at the Seijong Korean Language Center in Hanoi. Prioritizing quality in training, the center has attracted hundreds of students, many of whom have received scholarships for their excellent academic achievements. In future courses, to further support learning, the center will organize extracurricular activities to help students gain a deeper understanding and experience the unique aspects of Korean culture. At the closing ceremony, Associate Professor Pham Gia Lam emphasized his hope that Vietnamese students and native-speaking teachers would not only work together to create high-quality lessons but also act as ambassadors to promote cultural exchange between the two countries.
