On March 14, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU) held a meeting to congratulate the educators who received the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize for Science and Technology in 2012. In this award ceremony, the late Professor Tran Quoc Vuong and Professor Ha Minh Duc of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize; and Professors Doan Thien Thuat, Nguyen Thien Giap, and Nguyen Thua Hy were awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology.Attending the congratulatory meeting were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son - Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, former Rectors and Vice Rectors of the University from various periods, the University's Board of Directors, veteran educators, and representatives of the families of the Professors who received the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize… On behalf of the University's leadership, Professor Nguyen Van Khanh, Rector, congratulated the Professors and expressed the honor and pride of all the staff and students of the University. The Rector wished the Professors good health and continued great contributions to the social sciences and humanities of the country. The Rector hoped that the Professors would continue to show interest in and support the University's research and training in the future. Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son - Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, congratulated the Professors and thanked them for their contributions and achievements in building and glorifying the tradition of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Kim Son affirmed: The event of professors receiving the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize is an important event, a source of honor and pride for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The scientific achievements of these professors are the result of a tireless and continuous process of hard work. Associate Professor Nguyen Kim Son emphasized: Looking ahead to the future direction of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and its member universities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, we also need to prepare and create conditions for scientists to achieve scientific awards in the future.
On behalf of the award-winning educators, Professor Ha Minh Duc expressed his joy and emotion at the attention of the Party, the State, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, in recognizing the scientific contributions of the scientists. In his speech, the Professor shared profound memories from his 55 years of teaching and research at the University. To date, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has had 10 educators awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize and 16 educators awarded the State Prize for Science and Technology.
