Seminar on building new rural areas

From March 5th to 8th, 2012, the Dien Bien Provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the Center for Research and Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Regions and the Red River Basin - University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Hoa Mat Troi Psychological Application Company, organized the Dien Bien Provincial Youth Workshop on the New Rural Development Program in 2012 and training to enhance the capacity of grassroots Youth Union officials in mobilizing youth.
From March 5th to 8th, 2012, the Dien Bien Provincial Youth Union, in collaboration with the Center for Research and Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Regions and the Red River Basin - University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Hoa Mat Troi Psychological Application Company, organized the Dien Bien Provincial Youth Workshop on the New Rural Development Program in 2012 and training to enhance the capacity of grassroots Youth Union officials in mobilizing youth.The instructors for the training course and workshop were Prof. Dr. Tran Tri Doi - Director of the Center for Research and Development of Ethnic Minority Mountainous Regions and the Red River Basin - Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; and Dr. Pham Manh Ha - Lecturer in Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. The content focused on key issues such as: Education as a crucial element in the criteria for "Building New Rural Areas" in ethnic minority mountainous regions, and how to increase people's income – a core issue in building new rural areas; Training on skills and methods to enhance the capacity for youth solidarity and mobilization in the new situation… Speaking at the workshop, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council of Dien Bien, Nguyen Thanh Tung, requested that cadres and union members, based on the knowledge gained, continue to promote the dissemination and widespread mobilization among youth union members regarding the Party and State's policies on building new rural areas; all levels of the Youth Union must strengthen career guidance activities for youth union members, especially those in mountainous border areas; and coordinate with functional units to organize support and job placement for union members. Encouraging and motivating rural youth union members to improve their professional skills… Also on March 8, 2012, a delegation from the Center for Research and Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Regions and the Red River Basin - Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and the Dien Bien Provincial Youth Union visited Thanh Chan commune, Dien Bien district - a model new rural area in Dien Bien province. In the locality, the delegation awarded 10 scholarships worth 5 million VND each to disadvantaged students in the commune.
