Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) ranks among the top 150 universities in Asia.

Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-Hanoi) is ranked 1st in Vietnam in the QS Asia rankings, along with VNU-HCM (2nd), Can Tho University (3rd), Hue University (4th), and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (5th). In terms of regional rankings, from 191st in the top 200 universities in Asia (2015), VNU-Hanoi has risen to 139th in the top 150 universities in Asia this year.

Next is the Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, ranked 147th (2nd in Vietnam). In 2016, Vietnam had three more universities participating in the QS Asia rankings: Can Tho University (top 300), Hue University (top 350), and Hanoi University of Science and Technology (top 350).

In terms of rankings by individual criteria, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) is in the top 100 - at position 65 for academic reputation; top 200 for employer evaluation (position 169); and top 100 for the percentage of international exchange students (position 62).Previously, in the 2015 QS Asia rankings, Vietnam National University, Hanoi was in the 191-200 group.
