On the morning of August 1, 2022, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan chaired the August 2022 school-wide meeting. Attending the meeting were Vice Principals, Party cell secretaries, heads of units under the school and leaders of mass organizations.

After the opening speech of Principal Hoang Anh Tuan, Dr. Pham Huy Cuong (Director of the Center for Education Quality Assurance) briefly presented the Report on the results of the assessment and orientation for improving the school's quality in the period of 2022-2026. Accordingly, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has just achieved the accreditation of educational institutions by the Center for Education Quality Assessment - Ho Chi Minh City National University according to the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training, cycle 2 (Circular 12/2017-TT-BGD&DT). The school's self-assessment report has been completed, with high results (reaching nearly 91%). At the same time, based on the recommendations of the assessment organization, and at the same time aiming to improve the overall quality of the school, the Report also clearly stated the orientation for improving the quality of education in the coming time, focusing on the following areas: strategy; system; implementation of functions; performance results. Improving the quality of educational institutions needs to be implemented synchronously, based on the following principles: Ensuring system quality (adhering to the mission, strategy, core values ​​and educational philosophy), implementation and monitoring processes (to achieve results); enhancing the participation and cooperation of stakeholders inside and outside the school; The improvement cycle must be carried out continuously according to PDCA; developing a culture of quality among all students, lecturers and staff of the school.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Vice Principal) shared very encouraging results in training work in the past month: organizing the third graduation examination as well as organizing a solemn diploma award ceremony for 1,443 students graduating in 2022. August is the month when students research to finalize their registration wishes, while this year's enrollment applies many new points, so it is recommended that units actively promote their majors to attract students, to ensure both the highest quantity and quality targets. Regarding quality assessment work, Vice Principal Thu Huong emphasized that the results of the school assessment in the period of 2017-2022 are a recognition of many achievements the school has achieved, a testament to the school's training quality to society. However, it also pointed out many points that need to be improved in the coming time, in which special attention is paid to: systematicity, evidence, focusing on community service areas.
Regarding scientific research and cooperation and development, Vice President Dao Thanh Truong emphasized the key tasks in the coming month: continuing to perfect the institutional framework for scientific research activities, issuing documents recognizing the school's strong research groups, innovating student scientific research work, issuing specific instructions on organizing scientific conferences, seminars, and talks at all levels. In the past, the school has also signed many cooperation agreements with localities, organizations, and businesses in Hanoi and other provinces. This will be the legal basis for faculties to proactively register research topics and projects in cooperation with localities.
Vice President Lai Quoc Khanh happily shared information about the success of the meeting between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City. The two sides have signed a comprehensive cooperation document on all aspects: training, scientific research, university administration, etc. In the coming time, specific cooperation activities will be implemented, and the faculties are requested to proactively coordinate. Regarding administrative work: August is the peak month for repairing and renovating the E block, so contacting and working with functional departments may be inconvenient. We look forward to your understanding and sharing; the school is also developing a master plan to improve the school's information technology system based on information and suggestions from faculties and departments.
At the meeting, representatives of faculties/departments, affiliated units, and functional departments had a lively exchange and proposed many ideas to successfully complete the work of August and the coming time: the report on the results of the educational institution accreditation provided valuable information, especially notes and specific solutions to improve quality in the coming time; suggested sending it to faculties for research and implementation. Especially for training programs that have not been accredited, experience will be drawn to prepare documents and self-assessment reports more conveniently and effectively. The representative of the Department of Student Affairs and Training also noted that the work of statistics on student employment after graduation needs to be implemented soon to have data to report to the Ministry of Education and Training, and at the same time serve other activities of the school.

Before concluding the conference, President Hoang Anh Tuan shared more: VNU has agreed to actively support the University in terms of funding and expertise in completing the 1/500 planning of the Humanities Subdivision at the VNU Urban Area in Hoa Lac; at the same time, support the University in repairing the 336 Nguyen Trai facility: renovating the facade facing Nguyen Trai Street; increasing the self-study area for students; supporting scholarships for students in 9 basic science majors (about 50-60 million/year) including tuition, accommodation, living expenses, etc. Strengthening cooperation with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM to enhance the connection in some fields: students cross-study for credits; increasing scientific research exchange activities of staff...
Based on listening to the opinions exchanged and discussed at the Conference, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan concluded some key contents to be implemented in August and the following period:
About Party/Youth Union work: Complete the guiding documents for the Party cell congress for the 2022-2025 term; complete the work of perfecting the organizational structure and management staff at units according to plan.
Regarding administrative reform and university governance innovation: Issue a decision to establish Steering Committees/Working Groups: Working Group to implement the 1/500 planning of the Humanities subdivision at the VNU-Hanoi Project in Hoa Lac; Steering Committee for administrative reform and university governance innovation. Assign the Office of Student Affairs and Student Affairs as the focal point to implement activities to promote the work area: "care - support - management" of learners, closely coordinate with the Training Department and the Youth Union/Student Association, quickly complete the CASA Project in August to officially put it into operation from September 1, 2022. The Union/Association needs to increase interactions in a "proactive" and "positive" direction to contribute to the common work.
About recruitment and training: Focus on adjusting training programs of all systems according to VNU's direction on innovation of training programs; implement plans to collect tuition fees of training programs according to economic and technical standards; successfully complete accreditation programs. At the same time, improve communication work in a professional and effective manner.
About Research: The international conference for staff and postgraduate students of the school is scheduled to be held in October, but preparations for the conference must still be carried out very urgently according to schedule. The Department of Scientific Research Management is assigned to quickly complete and issue management documents on scientific research activities, innovation in student scientific research, etc.
About student affairs: Complete and put into operation the One-stop administrative support software; implement student surveys according to regulations of the Ministry/Industry; complete the source of student data after graduation.
