Social work is a field of study whose mission is to help, support, and care for the less fortunate, those in special circumstances, and those facing difficulties in the community, such as people with disabilities, the poor, those unable to care for or defend themselves, those suffering from incurable diseases, or victims of political, social, or natural disasters, etc., in order to help them integrate into society and have better lives.
After graduation, graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work can work in socio-economic, political, and mass organizations from the central to local levels, such as committee officials at various levels, youth union officials, women's associations, Red Cross societies, foreign affairs and cultural departments, social insurance, social policy, etc. Graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work can work in fields such as: economics, culture and society, education, law, religion, environment, social security, population, health, media, etc.
In their role as supporters and advisors to the organization, caring for the material and spiritual well-being of employees, social workers act as a bridge between workers and the company, and between the company and society, improving negative relationships that are affecting the business.
In the field of education, social workers support schools in management, policy development, curbing negative habits, and promoting the school's strengths; connecting schools with other social organizations; assisting teachers and students in overcoming difficulties encountered in the teaching and learning process; and caring for the mental health of staff and students. Social work activities also support doctors and medical staff in patient triage, counseling, referral services, and patient care, contributing to reducing difficulties in accessing and utilizing medical services at hospitals and clinics.
In particular, in urban and rural communities, social work professionals work on poverty alleviation, connecting communities with domestic and international social organizations to address socio-economic issues such as: poverty reduction; combating social evils; environmental pollution; orphaned children; single parents; reproductive health; environmental sanitation, etc., aiming towards a self-reliant and sustainable community.
Social workers can work in non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations, centers, and social development projects. Alternatively, they can work directly in research and training institutions related to social work.
