This is the second bachelor's course of Social Work (Sociology Department) trained at Bac Quang Boarding Ethnic Secondary School - Continuing Education (Ha Giang), and is one of 7 bachelor's classes of Social Work of the Sociology Department.
Most of the students in the class are district and commune officials of Tay and Mong ethnic groups, residing in Ha Giang and some neighboring provinces. Many students from remote districts such as Dong Van, Meo Vac, etc. often have to travel more than 100km to get to class. After more than 4 years of hard study, 55 students have graduated and received their diplomas, with 3 students ranked Excellent and 52 students ranked Fair.

Social work is a field of study with the mission of helping, supporting, and caring for the unfortunate, those in special circumstances, those facing difficulties in the community, such as the disabled, the poor, those who are unable to care for themselves, those with incurable diseases, or victims of political, social or natural disasters, etc. to help them integrate into society and have a better life.
After graduation, Bachelor of Social Work can work in economic - political - social organizations, mass organizations from central to local levels, such as committee officials at all levels, youth union officials, women's union, red cross, foreign cultural affairs committee, social insurance, social policy, etc. Bachelor of Social Work can work in the fields of: economics, culture - society, education, law, religious beliefs, environment, social security, population, health, communication, etc.
As a supporter, consultant for the organization, taking care of the material and spiritual life of employees, Social Work specialists are the ones who connect workers with businesses, businesses with society, improving negative relationships that are affecting businesses.
In the field of education, Social Workers support schools in managing, developing policies, limiting bad habits and promoting the strengths of the school; connecting schools with other social organizations, helping teachers and students overcome difficulties in the teaching and learning process, taking care of the mental health of staff and students. Social Work activities aim to support doctors in classifying patients, providing advice, introducing referral services, supporting patient care... contributing to reducing difficulties in accessing and using medical examination and treatment services of hospitals and medical examination and treatment centers.
In particular, in urban and rural communities, social workers work to eradicate hunger and reduce poverty, connecting communities with domestic and foreign social organizations to solve socio-economic problems in the community such as: Reducing hunger and poverty; repelling social evils; Environmental pollution; Orphans; Lonely fate; Reproductive health; Environmental sanitation..., towards a self-reliant, sustainable community.
Social workers can work in non-governmental organizations, non-profit organizations, social development centers and projects. Or they can work directly at research and training institutions related to the field of Social Work.
