Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dinh Van Duc (Chairman of the Association of Retired Teachers of Vietnam National University, Hanoi), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lam Ba Nam (Chairman of the Association of Retired Teachers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Huy Ho (Chairman of the Association of Retired Teachers of the University of Science), Dr. Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh (Chairman of the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), along with members of the Executive Committee of the Association of Retired Teachers of both the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Science.

Associate Professor Dr. Lam Ba Nam, representing the delegation, delivered a speech expressing profound gratitude and appreciation for the contributions and sacrifices of generations of faculty and students of Hanoi University who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. The speech emphasized:
"Today, in a solemn and deeply moving atmosphere, within the campus of Hanoi University, former faculty members of the University of Natural Sciences and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, along with the chairman of the Association of Former Faculty Members of Hanoi National University, are present here to pay tribute to and commemorate the heroic martyrs who bravely sacrificed themselves for the cause of national liberation. From this campus, 1333 faculty members and students of Hanoi University put aside their studies to enlist in the army, and many of them have become symbols of the Vietnamese spirit etched into the century."
We went without regret.
But how can one not have regrets at the age of twenty?
But if everyone regrets losing their 20s, what will become of the homeland?
"They dedicated their entire lives to the country at a very young age, with many dreams and aspirations left unfulfilled. That is the greatest sacrifice, incomparable and irreplaceable."
In a solemn and moving atmosphere, delegates respectfully laid wreaths and observed a minute of silence to remember and express gratitude for the contributions of the heroes and martyrs, of the preceding generations; especially the generations of staff and students of Hanoi University who served in the military to defend the Fatherland. The war has long since ended, but the image of these heroes will live on forever in the hearts of the university's staff, lecturers, and students. As the Chairman of the Retired Faculty stated: "The spirit of these heroes will always live on with our homeland, live on with the love of our compatriots, comrades, and our beloved university. That is the enduring essence, the meaning of life, the Vietnamese morality that we will always remember and cherish."

This is an annual activity, a beautiful tradition of the organizations, staff, and lecturers of the two universities, further enhancing the tradition of "drinking water, remembering the source," cherishing the past, and also reminding future generations of staff, lecturers, and students of their gratitude and appreciation for the generations of students and staff of the University who put aside their studies to go to war, "cutting through the Truong Son Mountains to save the country/With hearts full of hope for the future."
