Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh visits and works in Korea

From October 4 to 7, 2012, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU - had a working trip to Korea.During this working trip, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh paid an official visit and worked with the Board of Directors of the Chung-Soo Scholarship Foundation, one of the famous scholarship funds in Korea today. On behalf of the staff, lecturers and students of the University, the Rector sincerely thanked the Board of Directors of the Foundation for their special attention to the University's students, through reviewing and awarding scholarships to outstanding students in recent years. In addition, the leaders of the two sides discussed and agreed to organize a seminar in 2013 to exchange experiences between former students who received scholarships and directions for promoting this international scholarship. Then, on October 5, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh paid an official visit to Daejin University at the invitation of the Rector, Prof. Dr. Geun-Young Lee. Although Daejin University was founded in 1992, it has the largest scale and most modern facilities in Korea. Currently, the University has 10,000 students and 500 staff and lecturers. The University is promoting international cooperation with prestigious universities in Asia such as China, Japan and Vietnam. During the meeting, the leaders of the two sides discussed and agreed on cooperation contents in the fields of student and lecturer exchange, and co-organization of international conferences. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh and Prof. Dr. Geun-Young Lee have committed to coordinate in sending lecturers from the two schools to attend two upcoming international conferences, one with the theme "Comparing administrative systems in East Asia" held in October 2012 at the University of Commerce, Hanoi, and another conference will be held in April 2013 in Korea. Leaders of the two universities, USSH and Daejin University, also discussed co-organizing an international conference at USSH, VNU in 2014.
