On October 19, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a conference to summarize the union work of the 2011-2012 school year and disseminate the Law on Higher Education.In the year-end report, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Chairman of the University's Trade Union affirmed: In the past school year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities' Trade Union has performed well the functions and tasks of a grassroots trade union, making an important contribution to the successful implementation of the school's year's tasks. The activities of the Trade Union closely follow the major action programs: protecting legitimate rights and interests and taking care of the lives of teachers and workers, building harmonious labor relations, creating motivation to improve the quality of education and training; improving professional ethics, professional qualifications of union members; actively participating in emulation movements and social campaigns, effectively implementing the political tasks of the industry; innovating the organization, strengthening inspection work, improving the quality of staff; expanding foreign affairs activities. In the 2011-2012 school year, the Trade Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was ranked as an excellent strong trade union by the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and was awarded the Emulation Flag of Excellent Grassroots Trade Union by the Vietnam Education Trade Union. The school had 3 groups and 3 individuals awarded certificates of merit by the Education Trade Union, 5 groups and 30 individuals awarded certificates of merit by the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 6 groups and 54 individuals awarded certificates of merit by the Trade Union of the University, and 7 individuals awarded the "For the Trade Union Cause" medal by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
On behalf of the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the School, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Principal - acknowledged and commended the achievements that the School's Union has achieved. The Union actively participated in implementing many important tasks of the School, had many activities to encourage and help union members in improving their qualifications and participating in good work. The Union also cared about the lives of union members, creating a spirit of solidarity in the collective; participated in many meaningful social activities such as: caring for heroic mothers, helping children in difficult circumstances, visiting and encouraging wounded soldiers... With these activities, the School's Union has excellently fulfilled its tasks, being a worthy representative organization of the workers. In the 2012-2013 school year, the School's Union will focus on the following activities: continuing to direct union members to well implement the Resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels, the movements of the Industry and the Vietnam Education Industry Trade Union; Carry out well the political and ideological work, propaganda, and dissemination of laws to all staff; coordinate with the government to carry out well the 4 programs of work for the development of the School in the period 2012-2015; do well the work of protecting the legitimate rights and interests, taking care of the lives of staff; promote cultural, artistic, and sports activities to improve the spiritual life of staff; promote social work in the spirit of solidarity, mutual love...
