On the evening of October 4, 2012, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and the awarding of "Outstanding Students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi" for the 2011-2012 academic year.
On the evening of October 4, 2012, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities hosted the Closing Ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and the awarding of "Outstanding Students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi" for the 2011-2012 academic year.Attending the event were Prof. Nguyen Hoa, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu, Vice President of the Trade Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; Comrade Tran Anh Tuan, Member of the Central Committee of the Youth Union, Member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Student Association, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi City Youth Union, and Standing Vice President of the Hanoi City Student Association. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu – Vice Rector of the University. Concluding the 2011-2012 summer campaign, Comrade Nguyen Hai Minh – Secretary of the Youth Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, emphasized that the achievements today are the result of the efforts and dedication of over 1600 young volunteers who overcame difficulties and hardships, and who creatively built houses and classrooms filled with laughter for children, high-value projects, and scientific innovations applied in the practical lives of people in disadvantaged areas. This is the third year that the Youth Union and Student Association of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) have organized the selection and commendation of "5 Good Students". Last academic year, VNU had 100 outstanding students who overcame extremely difficult criteria regarding academics, ethics, health, skills, and integration to achieve this prestigious title. Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Tran Anh Tuan acknowledged and praised the excellent results achieved by the VNU Youth Union in the past academic year, and affirmed that this year's summer volunteer campaign of VNU students achieved four criteria: substance, professionalism, effectiveness, and safety. The Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union commended the "5 Good Students," emphasizing that the "5 Good Students" campaign aims to help students improve during their studies and, upon graduation, meet the needs of society and integration. VNU has always been a leading institution and the organizer of the most scientific, systematic, and effective programs nationwide. Comrade Tran Anh Tuan urged students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) to strive in their studies, cultivate their moral character, and actively participate in volunteer activities to build the VNU brand. At the ceremony, Comrade Tran Anh Tuan presented the Flag for Outstanding Overall Performance in Youth Union work and youth movements for the 2011-2012 academic year, and the Flag for Leading Emulation in Student Association work and student movements for the 2011-2012 academic year to the VNU Youth Union and Student Association. The City Youth Union also awarded certificates of merit to the VNU-level volunteer team in Soc Son district and the Thang Long - Hanoi Cultural and Historical Propaganda volunteer team of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The VNU Youth Union also commended 19 collectives and 48 individuals from the volunteer teams who achieved outstanding results in the 2012 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, including 4 collectives and 7 individuals from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Youth Union.
