The closing ceremony of the 2008 summer volunteer program, which also served as a welcoming party for new students of the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, took place on the evening of October 3, 2008, at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural Center.

During the 2008 summer volunteer campaign, more than 500 youth union members directly participated in 16 volunteer teams from the University Youth Union and the Vietnam National University, Hanoi Youth Union. These included the Exam Support Team, the Han Nom (classical Chinese and Vietnamese script) Team, the Korean-Japanese Team, and the Thang Long Cultural Propaganda Team, operating in Hanoi. Other teams operated in the provinces of Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, and Thach That - Hanoi, carrying out many meaningful volunteer activities such as: opening cultural classes for children, promoting reproductive health among teenagers, HIV prevention, food safety, teamwork skills training for young people, child injury prevention, youth law education, donating gifts to disadvantaged families and families of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, coordinating with local youth unions to organize social activities, participating in production labor, and maintaining environmental hygiene...

The collective efforts of numerous school members resulted in a successful summer volunteer program, bringing benefits to the community. In the 2007-2008 academic year, many groups and individuals received commendations and awards at various levels: 3 groups and 3 individuals received commendations from the Central Youth Union, and 4 groups and 6 individuals received certificates of merit from the Hanoi City Youth Union.

With outstanding achievements in the 2007-2008 academic year, the Youth Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities was recognized as the leading unit in the Youth Union movement of Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Comrade Vu Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary and President of the Student Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - presented the title of "Leading Unit in the Youth Union Movement of Vietnam National University, Hanoi" for the 2007-2008 academic year to Comrade Pham Huy Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union. The sponsor, Mobile Phone, awarded 5 scholarships to 5 students in difficult circumstances and 16 prizes to the team leaders of 16 volunteer teams participating in the 2008 summer program.

In particular, in 2008, the Youth Union of the University received a great honor and reward when it was awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal by the State for its achievements over the years, contributing to the development of the country.

Following the closing ceremony of the 2008 summer volunteer program was a cultural exchange night to welcome new students. The evening also featured performances and interactions with singers Tung Duong and Ngo Thien Hoang, as well as students from the University of Construction and the Diplomatic Academy.
