The School received the Third Class Labor Medal

The 2008 summer volunteer closing ceremony, which was also the welcoming party for new students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, took place on the evening of October 3, 2008 at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural House.

In the recent 2008 summer volunteer campaign, more than 500 members directly participated in 16 volunteer teams of the School Youth Union and the VNU Youth Union. Among them were the Exam Support Team, Han Nom, Korean - Japanese, Thang Long Cultural Propaganda Team operating in Hanoi. Other teams operated in the provinces of Tuyen Quang, Vinh Phuc, Hoa Binh, Thach That - Hanoi with many meaningful volunteer activities such as: opening cultural classes for children, propagating reproductive health among teenagers, HIV prevention, food safety, teamwork skills among youth, child injury prevention, youth law, giving gifts to poor families, families with heroic Vietnamese mothers, coordinating with local youth unions to organize social activities, participating in production labor, keeping the living environment clean...

The joint efforts of the school's members have made a successful volunteer summer, bringing benefits to the community. In the 2007-2008 school year, many groups and individuals received certificates of merit and titles at all levels: 03 groups and 03 individuals received certificates of merit from the Central Youth Union, 04 groups and 06 individuals received certificates of merit from the Hanoi Youth Union.

With outstanding achievements in the 2007-2008 school year, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities Youth Union was recognized as the leading unit of the VNU Youth Union movement. Comrade Vu Van Thang - Standing Deputy Secretary, President of the VNU Student Association presented the title of leading flag of the VNU Youth Union movement in the 2007-2008 school year to comrade Pham Huy Cuong - Deputy Secretary of the University Youth Union. The sponsor Mobile phone awarded 05 scholarships to 05 students with difficult circumstances, and 16 awards to the team leaders of 16 volunteer team models in the summer of 2008.

In particular, in 2008, a great honor and reward came to the School's Youth Union when it was awarded the Third Class Labor Medal by the State for its achievements over the past years, contributing to the development of the country.

After the 2008 summer volunteer summary, there was a cultural exchange night to welcome new students. The cultural exchange night also featured performances and exchanges by singers Tung Duong, Ngo Thien Hoang and students from the University of Construction and the Diplomatic Academy.
