Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea has announced a new scholarship program called the "Silk Road Scholarship" for high-achieving, promising international students wishing to study social sciences or humanities. This scholarship program is supported by SBS, the third-largest media conglomerate in South Korea.

Seoul National University (SNU) in South Korea has announced a new scholarship program called the "Silk Road Scholarship" for high-achieving, promising international students wishing to study social sciences or humanities. This scholarship program is supported by SBS, the third-largest media conglomerate in South Korea.

This scholarship program aims to attract outstanding students from Central and Southeast Asian countries. SNU hopes this program will promote academic exchange between East and West Asia.

Five full scholarships will be awarded to selected candidates. The scholarship will cover tuition fees (for two years), a monthly living allowance, and Korean language support. Applications for this scholarship program are accepted during the Fall semester for international students.

Scholarship details:

  • ObjectStudents from Southeast Asian and Central Asian countries, including Vietnam.
  • Field of study: Social sciences or humanities include Korean language, history, culture, political science, and economics.
  • Number of scholarshipsEach year, five students enroll in the Fall semester.
  • ScholarshipTuition fees for two years of study, living expenses of 600,000 KRW/month; round-trip airfare up to 1 million KRW; Korean language program over two semesters.
