Huazhong University of Science and Technology (China) offers full scholarships for master's and doctoral programs for international students.

About scholarships

The scholarship covers all tuition fees, housing costs, medical insurance fees and living expenses of the students (Regarding living expenses, master's students will be provided with 1,700 yuan/month and doctoral students will be provided with 2,000 yuan/month. This amount is enough to live comfortably in China).

About the major

1. Full scholarships are available for any graduate major.
2. You can study Chinese for 1 year at the Chinese Language Training Center (as a foreign language) and then continue your major in Chinese. The cost of studying Chinese and majoring in Chinese is included in the scholarship. The master's training period is 2.5 years and the doctoral training period is 3 years.
3. Many of the school's programs are taught in English if there are enough students. Students are not required to take a year of Chinese when studying regular programs in English.

Required Documents

1. “Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship” (attached). Please fill in all information in English or Chinese;
2. Notarized copy of highest degree (Bachelor's degree for graduate programs and Master's degree for doctoral programs. For degrees not written in English or Chinese, they must be notarized in English or Chinese);
3. Transcripts. Transcripts not written in English or Chinese must be notarized in English or Chinese;
4. Study plan in China (no less than 500 words), written in English or Chinese;
5. Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors, written in English or Chinese;
6. “Certificate of Health for Foreigners” (attached) written in English or Chinese. Each applicant must undergo a medical examination according to the requirements in the certificate form. The health certificate for foreigners is considered invalid in the following cases: the requirements are not fully filled out; there is no photo; there is no seal on the photo; the certificate does not have a doctor's signature and a hospital stamp. Note: The health certificate is only valid for 6 months, applicants should conduct the medical examination as required and on time.
