The corporate office is the workplace, the official contact and transaction headquarters of the enterprise with external agencies and partners. The office is considered the "General Staff", the "brain" of the enterprise, with the function of advising and effectively supporting administrators in issuing and implementing management decisions. The operational efficiency of the corporate office is decisive to the overall operational efficiency of the entire enterprise. Therefore, in the current context, Office Administration is an issue of particular concern to corporate administrators and is one of the solutions to help Vietnamese enterprises overcome the crisis period to survive and develop sustainably. In recent years, although there have been many innovations, the awareness of society in general and enterprises in particular about the role of the office and office administration is still inadequate. The operational efficiency of offices in many enterprises is not high, and office management solutions still lack professionalism and consistency. This has had a certain impact on the performance of enterprises in Vietnam in general and business administrators in particular. Meanwhile, in developed countries, office administration is always an issue of concern to enterprises in both theory and practice. The above reality is posing issues for scientists and business administrators that need to be researched and discussed to contribute to clarifying theoretical issues on office administration as well as experience in applying them to practical conditions in Vietnam. Based on the above reasons, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi) in collaboration with the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators (VACD) organized a scientific conference:
“Business Office Management: From Theory to Practice”With the above theme, the workshop focuses on the following main issues:
- Clarifying the position and role of the Office and Office Administration in the enterprise, especially emphasizing the supporting role and impact on the management and production activities of the enterprise during the integration period, overcoming the crisis for sustainable development;
- System of research results of Vietnam and the world from the theoretical perspective of office management; Clarifying similarities and differences in office management activities and office work in enterprises and state agencies as well as between types of enterprises;
- Analyze and share experiences from office management practices in a number of enterprises (especially VACD member enterprises) to have a basis for comparison and contrast with theoretical issues and clarify the specificity of offices and office management in enterprises in Vietnam;
- Exchange and share with business administrators about specific orientations, solutions and experiences to improve the capacity and effectiveness of corporate office management in the current and future context;
- Clarify the requirements and solutions to equip and improve the skills and administrative office skills for the staff in the corporate office, especially the requirements on deep expertise, personal qualities, professional working style and ability to withstand pressure at work, communication culture with superiors, subordinates, colleagues, partners, customers;
- Analyze the principles, requirements and specific measures so that businesses can organize and control well the basic issues in office operations such as: building programs and operation plans; applying quality management systems according to ISO standards; organizing and managing information systems, document systems and archives; managing assets and office equipment; organizing meetings and events; reception and celebration activities; solutions to reduce and save office costs...;
- Analyze the role of the office in advising and implementing the construction of corporate culture, creating and promoting the brand for the business;
- Clarifying the need for human resources in the field of office administration of enterprises and the issues raised for current training work.
