Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Giles Lever (British Ambassador to Vietnam), Professor Matthew Hibberd (University of Stirling), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities), and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication).

The Master of Media Management (MMR) program aims to equip students with up-to-date knowledge, skills, and attitudes to meet the increasing challenges of the global media environment. The entire program is officially taught at the University of Stirling – the first and leading MMR program in the UK. The curriculum has been designed and continuously updated over the years by British professors and experts, and has been adapted to suit the evolving media industry in Vietnam and the region. Many modules are highly practical for professionals, such as corporate communications, integrated marketing communications, media economics, and modern public relations technology. The MMR program is taught entirely in English by leading professors and media experts from the University of Stirling, with support from faculty members of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication. Upon completion, students will receive a Master's degree from this prestigious university.
Introducing this joint program to Vietnam aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn and acquire knowledge and skills according to international standards in one of the most attractive majors in the Vietnamese labor market today.
The first cohort of this program has 12 participants, who are leaders, managers, and experts in the field of public relations and marketing from various agencies, organizations, and large businesses.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Professor Matthew Hibberd of Stirling University emphasized the necessity of the course in providing those working in public relations, advertising, and marketing with up-to-date knowledge and valuable experiences for their careers. He also affirmed that Stirling is the first university in the UK to offer a Master's degree in Media Management and is a reputable training institution in this field.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication) delivered a speech at the opening ceremony.
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong (Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication) shared: the collaboration between a world-leading university and the Faculty of Journalism and Communication – a leading training institution in journalism and communication in Vietnam – is a crucial factor in ensuring the quality of the training program. Students will receive higher-level knowledge in communication, not only academic knowledge but also effective practical activities. Furthermore, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication, with its extensive partnerships with domestic and international partners, will provide students with significant career support during and after their studies. The Head of the Faculty of Journalism and Communication also expressed hope that the success of the program will contribute to improving the quality of training within the Faculty, aiming towards regional and international integration.

Highly appreciating the significance of the cooperation between the two leading universities of the two countries, the British Ambassador Giles Lever stated that cooperation in education and training is identified as a key priority in the strategic relationship between Vietnam and the United Kingdom. Leaders of the two countries exchanged views and committed to further promoting international educational partnerships between the two sides, aiming to create opportunities for Vietnamese students to access high-quality education from the United Kingdom. He affirmed that the British government and the British Embassy in Vietnam will strongly support the implementation of this joint training program at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

The Vice Rector of the University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh, stated that the Master of Media Management program reflects the development of the strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United Kingdom, both now and in the future. The University places particular importance on cooperation with UK universities and is committed to doing its utmost to create a high-quality and effective collaborative training program, serving as a model for Vietnam-UK cooperation in education.

As part of the opening ceremony, a seminar was held on the topic of "Communication/Public Relations and Climate Change: Opportunities, Methods, and Trends for Agencies, Organizations, and Businesses Today, Based on International Experience."

These are the first students of the Master of Media Management joint training program between the University of Stirling (UK) and the Faculty of Journalism and Communication (University of Social Sciences and Humanities). This is the first program of its kind implemented in Northern Vietnam.
