Recently, final-year students from the Archival Studies and Office Management department participated in a two-day course titled "Skills for Entrepreneurs," held on November 10-11, 2015. This completely free course quickly attracted a large number of students from its inception. However, due to the overwhelming number of applicants, priority was given to final-year students. Recognizing the current job market's need for students with not only professional skills but also soft skills, the course helped students from the Archival Studies and Office Management department get closer to the practical environment and acquire the necessary skills to meet future job requirements.

The first class took place at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium on the 2nd floor of Building H, with a lecture by Mr. Do Hong Khanh - Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bach Dang Company, and lecturer at the Banking Academy. Through very real stories about his life, the difficulties he encountered, his efforts and the lessons he learned, Mr. Do Hong Khanh provided students with profound lessons on self-improvement, striving for success in life, and the necessary qualities of an entrepreneur. The class attracted many contributions and suggestions from the students.

The students actively participated in the discussion.

When asked about the necessary skills of an office worker, Mr. Khanh emphasized professionalism – something many students and office workers lack. He also advised students to have ambition and a desire to build a career; to cultivate self-reliance and perseverance, to strive for wealth, and to study and hone their skills and abilities from their university years so that they can adapt to different work environments upon graduation. Especially at the end of the program, Mr. Khanh gave away 5 tickets to visit his "Detrang Farm" to encourage the students with the best and most enthusiastic contributions.

Teacher Khanh presented gifts to the students who enthusiastically participated in the discussion.

The second session of the course took place in Room AB302 with valuable skills lessons from Associate Professor Dr. Vu Thi Phung - Member of the Vietnam Association of Business Administrators, former Head of the Department of Archival Studies and Office Management, and Head of the Office Management Department. During the session, Professor Phung shared with students about administrative communication skills, focusing on appropriate communication and behavior in the workplace and office environment. Through her focused teaching style and engaging, real-life stories, her lecture captivated the students, who listened attentively and actively participated in discussions.

Student Le Thi Tuyet, K58 LTH, shared:This is a valuable lesson, providing fundamental knowledge that almost everyone, especially students like myself, is lacking. It helps me understand and learn how to improve communication in both work and daily life, enabling me to better myself. This is also essential foundational knowledge, a necessary asset for students to graduate from university. The most important thing I learned is that a cultured person always thinks, acts, and behaves in a way that brings good things to themselves and others. If you want others to respect you, you must first respect them.

After completing the course, Nguyen Minh Hieu - K58 LTH also shared:These two lessons were very beneficial and taught me a lot. I was most impressed with Ms. Phung, Mr. Khanh, and Ms. Dieu Linh, who were very enthusiastic and dedicated, taking the time and effort to create this course."Hiếu further shared that usually such skills training courses require a fee, but since they were able to attend for free, they are very grateful to the teachers in the department, especially Ms. Phụng, for creating the opportunity for them to participate in the course. He also expressed his wish to have the opportunity to attend more practical skills training courses like this in the future."

Hopefully, with the success of the course,Skills for entrepreneurs"The Department of Archival Studies and Office Management will offer even more practical skills training courses for students and contribute to building a high-quality workforce for the future."
