This morning, September 15, 2010, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities solemnly held the opening ceremony of the new school year 2010 - 2011.In his opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School - reviewed the important and outstanding achievements that the School has achieved in the 2009-2010 school year in all aspects: political ideology, training, scientific research, staff organization, foreign affairs and international training cooperation, financial activities and facilities...

In addition, the Principal also emphasized the key tasks of the whole school in each aspect of the school's activities in the 2010-2011 school year. Specifically: Strengthening the training and development of staff, especially the staff implementing international-standard training programs; training and improving the working capacity of lecturers, administrative and management staff in the direction of standardizing qualifications and evaluating the effectiveness of assigned work. Focusing on implementing well the existing international-standard training programs; building 1 to 2 more international-standard training majors/specializations. Completing the construction and submitting to VNU the project to open 1 to 2 new majors/specializations under the standard system. Diversifying training types and programs, focusing on innovating teaching, learning and testing methods; innovating training management organization methods in a centralized direction; building and innovating student management work in accordance with the credit-based training method. Continue to develop and improve the quality of international joint training programs, prioritize cooperation with high-ranking universities, rapidly improve the training quality and reputation of the school. Complete the existing topics and projects on time with high quality, and continue to develop and implement large-scale, highly interdisciplinary scientific and technological tasks. Strive to develop and implement at least 2 new state-level research topics and projects in the 2010-2011 school year. Innovate university governance, seriously, on schedule and effectively implement the training tasks and work of the school. Diversify solutions, promote training and scientific services to increase revenue. Attending and speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang - Vice President of VNU - highly appreciated the achievements of the school. At the same time, affirming the importance and role of social sciences and humanities in the development of the country. The contributions of teachers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities through the development periods of the country have been recognized by the Party and the State. The school has contributed to training many generations of students who have played and are playing key roles in the State's management system. Continuing that tradition, the school needs to continue to promote its role and mission, worthy of being one of the leading training institutions in the country, providing high-quality human resources.

On behalf of the students of the University, in his speech at the opening ceremony, student Nguyen Hoang Phuong - one of the students with excellent achievements in studying and scientific research - promised to study hard, actively participate in scientific research and practice well to continue to affirm the position of a high-quality university, training graduates to meet the needs of society. On the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2010-2011, the University also organized a ceremony to award certificates of merit and prizes to 3 valedictorians in the recent university entrance exam, 54 students of all courses with excellent and good academic results, 48 students who are Youth Union - Association officials with good work achievements and 45 students who overcame difficulties to study well. The 2010-2011 school year was also a year of many major celebrations: the University of Social Sciences and Humanities celebrated its 65th anniversary, and the whole country celebrated the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi.
