On September 11, a high-ranking delegation from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (China) visited and witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation between Vietnamese and Chinese universities at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.Attending the ceremony were Mr. Ma Xiao - Chairman of the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Sun Guoxiang - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Vietnam, Mr. Bui Van Ga - Deputy Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam, Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang - Vice President of VNU, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and representatives of leaders of several universities in Guangxi and Vietnam, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam...

During the visit, the high-ranking delegation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and representatives of the leaders of Vietnam and China witnessed the signing ceremony of cooperation agreements between 6 Chinese universities and 11 Vietnamese universities. Also during the visit, the government and people of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region presented 100 computers and 2,000 books to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. On behalf of the leaders of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - delivered a welcoming speech to the high-ranking delegation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The Rector emphasized that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is one of the leading training institutions in Vietnam, which has contributed to training and nurturing many generations of Chinese students, many of whom have become outstanding scientists and diplomats. The school attaches great importance to building and developing cooperative relationships with Chinese universities, especially those in Guangxi and Yunnan. Since 2003, the school has effectively implemented short-term, 3+1, and 2+2 joint training programs with Guangxi universities. Many students have continued to study for master's and doctoral degrees at the school after graduation. Currently, there are more than 300 students from Guangxi studying at the school.

Representing the high-ranking delegation of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Mr. Ma Xiao - Chairman of the People's Government of the Autonomous Region - highly appreciated and affirmed that the cooperative relationship between Guangxi and Vietnam has a long history, especially in the field of education. He said that in recent years, Vietnam is one of the countries with a rapidly increasing number of international students studying in Guangxi, reaching 5,000 people, the largest among ASEAN countries. Mr. Ma Xiao hopes that the signing of this cooperation agreement will contribute to strengthening cooperation between Guangxi and Vietnamese universities. Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Bui Van Ga affirmed that educational cooperation between Vietnamese universities and those in Guangxi plays an important role in training high-quality human resources. The Deputy Minister expressed his belief that the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and China in general and with Guangxi province in particular in the field of education and training will increasingly develop and become more successful.

In recent times, universities in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region have sent thousands of students to study at Vietnamese universities and vice versa, Vietnamese universities have also sent many students to study in Guangxi. The educational institutions of the two countries have been implementing many specific activities. Thereby, it will promote the cooperative relationship between the two sides to a new level, more comprehensive and effective.
