The Faculty of Philosophy introduces its new Executive Board for the 2015-2020 term.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice Rector of the University, delivered a congratulatory speech to the new Executive Board.

The program was attended by representatives from agencies, research institutes, and universities that are long-standing partners of the Philosophy Department, such as: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Trong Chuan - Former Director of the Institute of Philosophy, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Dang Sinh - Head of the Philosophy Department, Hanoi Pedagogical University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities… In addition, the ceremony was also attended by leaders of functional departments, faculties, centers, research institutes, affiliated departments and socio-political organizations of the university, retired and current teachers of the department, postgraduate students and Philosophy students.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Van Quynh, M.Sc. – Deputy Head of the Personnel Department, announced the decision to appoint the Dean and Vice-Dean of the Philosophy Department for the term 2015-2020. Accordingly, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan was appointed as the Dean of the Philosophy Department. The two newly appointed Vice-Deans are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Hung and Dr. Pham Hoang Giang.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim extended his congratulations to the new leadership team of the Philosophy Department. The Associate Professor also expressed his confidence and hopes for the new leadership team in the coming term.

Responding to these expectations, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan shared: “The new Faculty Board pledges to uphold ethical conduct, disciplined lifestyle, and a spirit of unity and dedication, while improving professional competence and management methods. Despite many difficulties and challenges, the Faculty Board will strive to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the University, living up to the trust of the faculty, the university, and the lecturers and students in the faculty.”

In her congratulatory speech to the new Dean's Office, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thuy Van (former Dean of the Philosophy Department, 2010-2015 term) emotionally shared: “On behalf of the former Dean's Office, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the teachers in the Philosophy Department. Over the past year, we faced many difficulties. The sheer volume of work was overwhelming, even just thinking about it sends shivers down my spine. But it was the unity, the cohesion, and especially the understanding and dedication of the teachers and students who stood by us during the most challenging times. Thanks to them, our Philosophy Department has overcome every difficulty and endured every challenge.”

Also during this ceremony, the Philosophy Department held the opening ceremony for the new academic year 2015-2016. This year, the Philosophy Department welcomes 83 students of the K60 cohort, including 60 students in the standard program and 23 students in the high-quality program.

At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim awarded the Tran Duc Thao scholarship to students who won prizes in the school-level scientific research competition last academic year. Following that, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Quang Hung presented certificates of merit from the Rector to students who achieved high academic and training results in the 2014-2015 academic year.
