On November 11, 2011, the Faculty of Philosophy solemnly celebrated its 35th anniversary (1976 - 2011). Attending the ceremony were professors and scientists who have worked and are currently working at the Faculty, representatives from central agencies, universities, research institutes, and generations of lecturers, students, and trainees.Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thuy Van - Head of the Philosophy Department - reviewed the most outstanding achievements of the Department in the field of training and scientific research: Regarding training, from 61 students in the first cohort, the Department has now completed the task of training 32 cohorts of full-time students with over 2000 graduates and 8 cohorts of part-time students with over 1000 students. Currently, the Philosophy Department is training 325 full-time students in two training systems: standard and high-quality; and over 100 part-time students majoring in Religious Studies. Regarding postgraduate training, the Department has trained 15 out of 17 postgraduate cohorts, and currently has 210 postgraduate students and 39 doctoral candidates. In terms of scientific research, from 2006 to the present, 9 textbooks and lectures have been introduced into teaching, faculty members have written and published nearly 50 reference books, and have led and participated in many research projects at various levels.

The achievements of the Philosophy Department were recognized by the State with the Third-Class Labor Medal in 1997 and the Second-Class Labor Medal in 2011. Along with this, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thuy Van outlined several strategic tasks that the Department will focus on: continuing to conduct fundamental theoretical research; improving the quality and effectiveness of scientific research and international cooperation; adjusting and supplementing the training structure towards being up-to-date, modern, and relevant to practical requirements; and strengthening staff training. On this occasion, the Dean's Board of the Philosophy Department expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the generations of veteran teachers. Veteran teachers such as Professor Pham Nhu Cuong, Professor Dr. Nguyen Huu Vui, Associate Professor Bui Thanh Quat, and others offered congratulations and shared memories from the Department's journey of formation and development.

On behalf of the university leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector - acknowledged, commended, and congratulated the achievements of the Philosophy Faculty after 35 years of development and growth. To continue building and developing the Philosophy Faculty into a high-quality training and research center, the Vice Rector emphasized that in the coming years, the Philosophy Faculty needs to focus on effectively carrying out several tasks:
- Focus resources on strengthening the planning, training, and development of cadres.
- To implement reforms in training programs and methods, it is necessary to quickly adjust and refine the curriculum framework and training structure at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in a national, scientific, and modern direction.
- Promoting and improving the effectiveness of scientific research activities.
- Continue to expand cooperation in training and research.
- Emphasize the importance of ideological and professional ethics education for staff and students.
