On September 4, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a conference for all faculty and staff. Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - along with representatives from the leadership of various functional departments of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

On September 4, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a conference for all faculty and staff. Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Standing Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi - along with representatives from the leadership of various functional departments of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.The conference heard and discussed the report summarizing the 2011-2012 academic year and the plan and tasks for the 2012-2013 academic year, presented by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim - Vice Rector. Accordingly, in the 2011-2012 academic year, the University successfully completed, on schedule, the adjustment of 22 undergraduate and 53 postgraduate training programs according to output standards; developed new training programs to meet the needs of learners and society; continued effective investment in learning materials; and actively innovated teaching methods. Postgraduate training showed positive changes: enrollment increased, and training programs were increasingly improved in the direction of articulation and collaboration, meeting social needs and having a high degree of integration. Scientific research activities yielded good results: diversification of funding sources and research topics, and scientific activities; and a high average publication rate per capita. The school has 2 teachers who received the Ho Chi Minh Prize, 3 teachers who received the State Prize, and 3 projects that won the Science Prize at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities was awarded the title of "Outstanding Labor Collective" by the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Four faculty members of the University were nominated for the title of "Third-Class Laborer". During the 2012-2013 academic year, the University focused on the following key tasks: - Continuing to improve the quality and effectiveness of training; effectively implementing three component projects under the Ministry of Education and Training's strategic plan; implementing the Ministry of Education and Training's project "Taking on the task of training doctoral-level lecturers in social sciences and humanities for universities and colleges"; completing output standards and adjusting training programs to suit credit-based training. - Proposing, developing, and leading the implementation of one national-level scientific program or 3-5 national-level scientific projects; building 3-5 strong research groups; and focusing on increasing the publication of research results in international scientific journals. - Build and develop a team of lecturers (especially those with doctoral degrees or higher and capable of teaching specialized subjects in English) and administrative staff to gradually meet international standards. - Continue to improve student management regulations in line with the credit-based training method; strengthen student counseling and support in academics, career guidance, and job searching after graduation. - Evaluate the Linguistics program according to AUN standards. - Issue and apply ISO-standard management procedures in the university's management and operational activities. - Continue to promote the campaign "Learning and working according to the moral example of Ho Chi Minh" and other campaigns. - Increase financial resources; develop, upgrade, and expand physical facilities and IT-ICT infrastructure; complete in-depth investment projects to effectively serve training and scientific research. Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Xuan Nha - Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, highly appreciated the results achieved by the University in the past academic year, affirming that the social sciences and humanities, with a focus on research on human beings and society, are increasingly valued by the Party and the State. This is a great opportunity for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to seize and continue to make important contributions to the development of this scientific field as well as the development of the country. The Vice Director suggested that the University should proactively propose a number of national-level research programs in social sciences and humanities; participate more strongly in interdisciplinary research programs of Vietnam National University, Hanoi as a key member; promote scientific research cooperation with international partners to enhance its position; further promote the role of research centers in connecting and designing national-level scientific projects; pay attention to creating linkages and connections between large-scale projects and projects at smaller levels…

At the conference, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities awarded prizes to collectives and individuals who received commendations from the Vietnam Education Trade Union, the Minister of Education and Training, and the Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
