On September 5th, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a welcoming ceremony and enrollment process for new students of the QH-2012-X cohort. By the end of the afternoon, 1044 students had completed the enrollment procedures, representing 86.28% of the students admitted through their first-choice application.According to Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu (Head of the Political and Student Affairs Department), the welcoming and enrollment process for new students was not only serious, efficient, and in the correct order, but also created a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere for the many new students and their families on their first day at the University. However, some students were still unable to complete their enrollment due to missing relevant documents; these students will continue to complete their paperwork within 15 days from September 5th. The enrollment period for new students admitted through the second-choice application is expected to take place in mid-September.

Mr. Pham Quang Vu (Deputy Head of the Student Affairs and Services Department) stated that after the enrollment ceremony, the University will quickly proceed with the selection process to award scholarships to first-year students. Currently, Vu Thi Cam Tu (Faculty of Journalism and Communication), the top student in Block D of the QH-2012-X cohort, has been selected to represent the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in receiving the 2012 Hoa Trang Nguyen Award, given to top-performing students, outstanding university students, outstanding high school students, and students who have won medals in international competitions nationwide. This year, new students of the QH-2012-X cohort also have the opportunity to receive 10 scholarships from the Kumho Asiana Vietnam Scholarship and Culture Fund for the 2012-2013 academic year, awarded to students with high entrance exam scores and students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
