Establishment of Phan Huu Dat Award Fund

On June 16, 2011, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School signed the decision to promulgate the Charter of Phan Huu Dat Award Fund and established the Executive Board of Phan Huu Dat Award Fund.
On June 16, 2011, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School signed the decision to promulgate the Charter of Phan Huu Dat Award Fund and established the Executive Board of Phan Huu Dat Award Fund.Accordingly, the Executive Board of Phan Huu Dat Award Fund includes the following members:
  • Vice Principal in charge of Training - Head of Department
  • Head of Anthropology Department - Deputy Head of Board
  • Training Assistant, Department of Anthropology - Standing Member
  • Representative of the Graduate Training Department - Member
  • Representative of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs - Member
Phan Huu Dat Award Fund was established on the basis of a voluntary contribution of 100,000,000 VND from Professor, People's Teacher Phan Huu Dat to the Department of Anthropology to encourage students and trainees of the Department of Anthropology to strive to study well. The criteria for awarding the Award are Vietnamese citizens, currently studying at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels at the Department of Anthropology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU with the following criteria: having good political qualities and social ethics, complying with regulations, actively participating in class activities, the Union and the Student Association. Students with an average grade point average of good or higher for the entire year, calculated on the first exam score, postgraduate students with excellent thesis and dissertation defense results. Students and trainees participating in scientific research have received awards from the School level or higher or have scientific research articles published in specialized scientific journals. Award consideration procedures: Phan Huu Dat Award Fund organizes the consideration once a year; Each graduate student during his/her study at the University can only receive the Phan Huu Dat Award once. Qualified students can apply themselves or be nominated by their class. The student's application or class letter must be reviewed by the Board of Directors of the Department of Anthropology. Graduate students are nominated by the Fund's Executive Board based on their academic results and annual thesis and dissertation defenses. The Phan Huu Dat Award Fund's Executive Board determines the annual award based on the savings interest rate of the Fund's money, but not exceeding VND 5,000,000. The budget for organizing the award ceremony is taken from the savings interest rate, but not exceeding VND 1,000,000/year. All regulations related to this issue must be approved by at least 2/3 of the Fund's Executive Board members. On June 16, Professor, People's Teacher Phan Huu Dat donated all the contributions to the Phan Huu Dat Award Fund. On behalf of the school's leadership, Associate Professor Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu expressed his sincere thanks to Professor Phan Huu Dat. The Vice President affirmed that the school and the Executive Board will operate the Fund effectively, in accordance with the regulations. Professor Phan Huu Dat expressed his belief that the school will use and develop the Fund effectively, contributing to helping students and trainees of the Department of Anthropology develop their intelligence. This is one of the wishes of Professor Phan Huu Dat. Previously, Professor Phan Huu Dat donated a personal bookcase, newspapers, and reference materials to the Department of Anthropology. Professor Phan Huu Dat was the former Head of the History Department - Hanoi University, Principal of Hanoi University of Science, Head of the Department of Ethnology - Faculty of History, Hanoi University of Science. Professor Phan Huu Dat also held many positions such as: Member of the National Council for Directing the Compilation of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia; Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia (1997); Acting President of the Vietnam Historical Science Association, President of the Vietnam Ethnology Association (1996 – 2001); Honorary Professor of Lomonosov University (1987).
