The short documentary "The Children" by Bui Thi Ha - a student of class K53 Journalism and Communication - won two gold awards at the 2011 Golden Lotus Award ceremony.
The short documentary "The Children" by Bui Thi Ha - a student of class K53 Journalism and Communication - won two gold awards at the 2011 Golden Lotus Award ceremony.Outstandingly surpassing nearly 50 other short documentaries, Bui Thi Ha's film "The Children" was selected for screening (along with 4 other short documentaries) at the awards ceremony held at the French Cultural Center in Hanoi (L'Espace) on the evening of June 18th. Upon its screening, "The Children" received a warm reception and high praise from both the audience and the jury. Ultimately, Bui Thi Ha's "The Children" won two Golden Lotus Awards: Best Documentary (Jury's Choice) and Best Documentary (Audience's Choice). The 2011 Golden Lotus Award honors the best short films by students of the "We Make Films" project of the Center for Supporting the Development of Cinematic Talent (TPD) - Vietnam Film Association. "We Make Films" is a short-term course on Documentary and Feature Filmmaking held on weekends over 16 sessions/4 months (8 documentary sessions, 8 feature film sessions). This is where you can grasp the fundamentals of filmmaking and experience exciting hands-on filmmaking sessions. Target participants: Middle school students in grades 6, 7, and 8; high school students in grades 10 and 11; and university and college students in major cities and localities. Bui Thi Ha participated in class H18 of the "We Make Films" project from March 2011.
