On March 28, 2017, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Nghia (Head of Cooperation and Development Department) and representatives of the Faculty of Philosophy received and worked with a delegation from Greifswald University (Germany) led by Associate Professor Dr. Margit Bussmann (Head of the Faculty of International Relations and Area Studies).

At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Nghia introduced the main achievements in training, scientific research and main research directions of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. The school wishes to strengthen the relationship with Greifswald University through specific and practical cooperation.

In response, Associate Professor Dr. Margit Bussmann, on behalf of Greifswald University, thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for its warm welcome and proposed a number of cooperation activities between the two sides such as student and lecturer exchanges, implementing joint training programs, organizing international conferences, etc. Greifswald University expressed its hope to welcome and partially sponsor Vietnamese students to study and research in Germany. As for Associate Professor Dr. Margit Bussmann, she is currently teaching graduate students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities from March 27 to March 31, 2017 within the framework of the Eramus+ Lecturer Exchange Program of the European Union.

On behalf of the University, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Viet Nghia pledged to create the best conditions to implement the cooperation proposals of Greifswald University. The Office of Cooperation and Development will be the contact point between the two sides.

The University of Greifswald was founded in 1456 and is one of the oldest educational institutions in Europe. Priority research areas at the university are related to issues such as life sciences, physics, law, and economics. Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University Greifswald has more than 6,000 teaching, research, and other staff in its departments and 5 faculties: Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Law and Economics, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Philosophy, and Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
