During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi) emphasized that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has a long-standing cooperative relationship with the Iranian Embassy, as well as a long history of training and research on Iran. The Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, has organized four photo exhibitions, five seminars, five books and three issues of a specialized journal on Iran, three talks on the people and country of Iran, four Persian language courses, and has also trained six master's and three bachelor's students in Iran. The University wishes to continue expanding its relationship with the Iranian Embassy and universities in Tehran.

In response, Mr. Mahdi Farazi thanked the University of Social Sciences and Humanities for its warm welcome. He stated that the Iranian Embassy in Vietnam is always ready to help the University connect with Iranian universities, support the University in organizing international conferences, send lecturers and scholars from Iranian universities to attend conferences organized by the University, as well as launch short-term courses on Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian studies.
Professor Pham Quang Minh agreed with Mr. Mahdi Farazi's proposals. In response, the Rector extended a personal invitation to Mr. Mahdi Farazi to lecture at the University on international relations issues such as regional integration in the Middle East, the rise of China in the Middle East, etc. The Rector also invited him to participate in and contribute a paper to the 5th International Conference on Vietnamese Studies in December. The Cooperation and Development Office will provide the best possible conditions for the University to connect with the Iranian Embassy.

Professor Pham Quang Minh presents a commemorative gift to Mr. Mahdi Farazi.
Mahdi Farazi is also a Research Fellow at the Institute for Middle East Strategic Studies. He holds a PhD in Political Science from the Institute of Humanities and Cultural Studies in Tehran. His main research areas are international relations in the Middle East and Chinese foreign policy.
