Receiving documents and artifacts of Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc

The Center for Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists began researching and collecting documents of Professor Ha Minh Duc in 2009. Through more than 10 working sessions with thousands of minutes of recording, he shared about his life of tireless scientific activities. In particular, he donated to the Center a huge personal collection of nearly 10,000 documents and artifacts, diverse in types, including more than 4,000 notes and research manuscripts on literary authors, contributing to reflecting the research career of Professor Ha Minh Duc. It was a process that lasted for decades of collecting documents, meeting and exchanging with writers or researchers and recording literary issues that interested him. All of these were turned into specific issues by Professor Ha Minh Duc, over time.

Some documents and artifacts of Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc were donated to the Center.

Professor and People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc was born in 1935 into a wealthy family in Vinh Loc, Thanh Hoa. He graduated from the Faculty of Literature, University of Education in 1957 and became a lecturer at the newly established University. At Hanoi University, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, lecturer Ha Minh Duc held many important positions: Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature (1987 - 1988), Head of the Faculty of Journalism (1990 - 2000). In 1995, he was assigned the additional task of Director of the Institute of Literature and Editor-in-Chief of Literature Magazine (1995 - 2003). Throughout his life, teacher Ha Minh Duc devoted himself to both teaching and research. He was awarded the title of Professor of Literature in 1991, was awarded the First Class Labor Medal and the title of People's Teacher in 2000.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Huy, Professional Director of the Center for Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists, received a collection of documents and artifacts from Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc.

With his tenacious writing, persistent and creative work in many genres: monographs, research, literary and journalistic criticism, literary essays, etc., Ha Minh Duc's mark is clearly shown through the "massive" volume of works:Writer and works(1971);Poetry and some issues in modern Vietnamese poetry(1974);C. Marx, F. Engels, VI. Lenin and some issues of literary theory(1982);Time and pages(1987);Nam Cao - Literary life and works(1997);Nguyen Binh - poet of the countryside(1994);To Hoai - the creativity of a literary life(2010);Te Hanh - Forever young(2012)… In particular, the cluster of works “Modern Vietnamese Literature and Literary Theory” was awarded the State Prize for Culture and Arts (2001). In particular, the cluster of works “Ho Chi Minh’s cultural and journalistic career and some theoretical and practical issues of Vietnamese culture and literature” was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Social Sciences (2012), along with many other noble titles and awards, affirming the important contributions of Professor Ha Minh Duc in the field of literature and arts of the country.
