
The Center for the Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists began researching and collecting materials from Professor Ha Minh Duc in 2009. Through more than 10 working sessions and thousands of minutes of audio recordings, he shared about his tireless scientific career. In particular, he donated to the Center a vast personal collection of nearly 10,000 documents and artifacts, diverse in type, including over 4,000 notes and research manuscripts on literary authors, contributing to reflecting Professor Ha Minh Duc's research career. This was a process spanning several decades of collecting materials, meeting and exchanging ideas with writers and researchers, and documenting the literary issues that interested him. All of this was presented by Professor Ha Minh Duc as specific issues, chronologically.

Some documents and artifacts of Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc were donated to the Center.
Professor Ha Minh Duc was born in 1935 into a well-off family in Vinh Loc, Thanh Hoa. He graduated from the Faculty of Literature at the University of Pedagogy in 1957 and became a lecturer at the newly established University of Hanoi. At the University of Hanoi, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Ha Minh Duc held many important positions: Deputy Head of the Faculty of Literature (1987-1988), Head of the Faculty of Journalism (1990-2000). In 1995, he was also assigned the task of Director of the Institute of Literature and Editor-in-Chief of the Literature Magazine (1995-2003). Throughout his life, Professor Ha Minh Duc devoted himself wholeheartedly to both teaching and research. He was awarded the title of Professor of Literature in 1991, and received the First Class Labor Medal and the title of People's Teacher in 2000.

With his prolific writing, persistent hard work, and creativity across various genres—essays, research, literary and journalistic criticism, literary essays, etc.—Ha Minh Duc's mark is clearly evident in the "massive" volume of his works:The writer and his works(1971);Poetry and some issues in modern Vietnamese poetry.(1974);C. Marx, F. Engels, V.I. Lenin, and some theoretical issues of literature and art.(1982);Time and pages(1987);Nam Cao - Life and Works(1997);Nguyen Binh - the poet of the countryside(1994);To Hoai - the creative power of a literary life.(2010);Te Hanh - Forever Young(2012)… In particular, the collection of works “Modern Vietnamese Literature and Literary Theory” was awarded the State Prize for Culture and Arts (2001), and the collection of works “Ho Chi Minh’s Cultural and Journalistic Career and Some Theoretical and Practical Issues of Vietnamese Culture and Arts” was awarded the Ho Chi Minh Prize for Social Sciences (2012), along with many other prestigious titles and awards, affirming Professor Ha Minh Duc’s important contributions to the field of literature and art in our country.
