During the meeting, Professor Pham Quang Minh introduced some aspects of the training and research programs of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities: The university has over 70 years of development and growth and is a leading university in Vietnam in the social sciences and humanities. It currently trains 10,000 students, has over 500 staff members, and 16 faculties and departments. In addition to long-standing disciplines such as History, Literature, and Linguistics, the university also offers programs in Journalism and Communication, Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology, Political Science, and Religious Studies. The university currently has 23 undergraduate programs and over 60 postgraduate programs. The university has been continuously expanding its cooperative relationships with foreign partners to meet the requirements of integration and improve the quality of training to international standards. The university has a rich system of research projects at various levels. Thanks to these studies, the university's scientists have made significant contributions to advising the government on the development of cultural and social policies.

The university has signed 250 official cooperation agreements with foreign universities, including many Chinese universities. Each year, the university receives approximately 300 Chinese students to study Vietnamese language and Vietnamese studies. To date, the university has established educational cooperation relationships with nearly 50 Chinese universities such as Guangxi University, Guangxi University for Nationalities, Yunnan University, Yunnan University for Nationalities, Guangdong University of Foreign Languages and Foreign Trade… and several universities in Beijing such as Tsinghua University, Peking University and Shanghai such as Fudan University, Shanghai Foreign Language University, East China Normal University…. In 2013, during his official visit to Vietnam, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang visited and spoke at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and since then, the Chinese government has granted the university 10 full scholarships annually.
During the meeting, Mr. Phuong Quan shared his joy at visiting a renowned university in Vietnam. He further shared that each year, the Chinese government grants Vietnam 150 full scholarships, 100 tuition-free scholarships, and many other scholarships through various programs such as the annual China-ASEAN Education Exchange Week held in Guiyang City, Guizhou Province. He expressed his hope that Vietnamese students could effectively utilize these scholarship opportunities to study at Chinese universities.
Both sides emphasized the need to maintain a good cooperative relationship between the School and Chinese universities and agreed that education, as a crucial pillar, will increasingly play an important role in enhancing mutual understanding between the two countries.

Also attending this meeting were several lecturers from the Department of Oriental Studies and the Department of Literature – all of whom had pursued doctoral studies on scholarships from the Chinese government. They shared a lot of information and exchanged experiences, as well as the difficulties they encountered while studying in China.
