“K57 Talent” - a playground for new students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - was held on September 27, 2012 at the Me Tri Dormitory Cultural House. The contest was attended by guests such as: Associate Professor, Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice Principal, Secretary of the Youth Union of VNU Nguyen Hai Minh, Master. Trinh Minh Thai - Secretary of the Youth Union of the University. In addition, there was also the presence of a representative of the sponsor Viettel. From 7:00 p.m., despite the rain, the hall of the cultural house was packed with spectators on the seats. Everyone eagerly awaited the contestants' competitions. The program had the participation of 15 performances from the faculties: Journalism and Communication, Political Science, Sociology, Oriental Studies, Management Science, Library Information, etc. According to the judges, the quality of the contestants this year was quite even, making it difficult to choose the best contestants. The majority of the singing performances were chosen by new students. This year, no contestants competed in the dance talent competition - the talent competition that won first prize last year. But in return, the participating performances were quite diverse, from Chau Van singing, modern dancing, traditional martial arts dancing, flute playing and even singing in English... Although the new students were still shy and awkward, through each round of the competition, they became much more mature. They were confident on stage, showing the identity of Social Sciences and Humanities students in the final night and bringing many emotions to the audience. In the end, the awards were: - Gold Prize: Tran Hoang My Linh (Faculty of Journalism and Communication) with the song "Hey, pretty girl". - Silver Prize: Tran Thi Huyen Trang (Faculty of Oriental Studies) with the song "Doi co thuong ngan". - Bronze Prize: Vu Hong Son (Faculty of Political Science) with Traditional Martial Arts; Vang Thi Vu (Faculty of Management Science) with the song "My Teacher". Also in the final night, Viettel awarded 5 gifts to 5 students with difficult circumstances who were admitted to the school with high scores. This is the second Freshman Talent Search Program organized by the Youth Union - Student Association of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
