VNU-USSH officially accepts the first MOOCs (Mobile Open Online Courses) lecture.

On December 27, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) made a significant mark in digitalized teaching by officially approving and launching MOOCs (Mobile Open Online Courses) for the Basic Informatics course. This is a strategic step towards modernizing education, enhancing the learning experience, and equipping students with the necessary technological knowledge and skills in the digital age.
Under the chairmanship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong – Vice Rector and Chairperson of the Council, along with other experts, the Acceptance Council assessed the lecture as meeting high standards in terms of content, pedagogical methods, as well as technology and techniques. The head of the drafting team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Hung, represented the team in reporting the results to the council.

Innovate the content and format of communication.
The MOOCs (Mobile Open Online Courses) for the Applied Informatics course are designed with 11 modules, focusing on advanced, up-to-date, and practical topics, including:
Lesson 1. Fundamentals of Information Technology
Lesson 2. Digital Transformation and Data Mining
Lesson 3. Overview of Artificial Intelligence
Lesson 4. Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Content Creation
Lesson 5. The Internet and Privacy
Lesson 6. Basic Word Processing
Lesson 7. Advanced Word Processing
Lesson 8. Basic Spreadsheet Processing
Lesson 9. Advanced Spreadsheet Processing
Lesson 10. Using basic presentations
Lesson 11. Using advanced slideshows
The lectures are built on a modern technological platform, integrating multimedia elements such as high-definition video, vivid sound, and user-friendly interactive features. With nearly 30 video clips in total, each lesson is divided into concise sections to facilitate student comprehension. Accompanying learning materials include 5 sets of multiple-choice questions and 6 sets of practice exercises, helping students reinforce their knowledge and develop application skills.
From a pedagogical perspective, the lecture ensures a comprehensive teaching and learning process, from problem-solving to knowledge assessment, encouraging students to actively explore and solve problems.
The lecture content not only ensures accuracy and adherence to academic criteria but also strictly complies with the regulations of the Party and the State. References are cited clearly and transparently.
The course materials have been packaged according to the SCORM standard, ensuring smooth operation on learning management systems (LMS) and high compatibility with the internet, contributing to the sustainability of digital and personalized training deployment.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities expects that the Applied Informatics lecture will be an important foundation for subsequent MOOCs projects, further spreading the value of digital education to a large number of students both domestically and internationally.
