Sharing at the meeting, Chairwoman of the VNU Trade Union Nguyen Thi Thao sent her deepest condolences to the families of the students who suffered heavy losses due to storm No. 3, and expressed her sorrow for the difficulties and losses that people in the flood-hit areas have had to endure in recent times. The Chairwoman of the VNU Trade Union said that the gifts sent to the students today are not large sums of money, but they contain the affection, care and love of officials, employees, lecturers and students of VNU. She hopes that with the encouragement from the school they are studying at, the students will steadfastly overcome difficulties, continue to strive to become good citizens, contributing to the development of society, family and themselves. VNU students always have the opportunity to study and strive with peace of mind in the spirit of "One VNU" - the common home of VNU accompanying learners to overcome difficulties and challenges. On behalf of the Executive Committee of the VNU Youth Union, Secretary of the VNU Youth Union Hua Thanh Hoa shared his emotion when receiving nearly 570 donations from organizations and individuals through the call of the Youth Union and the Student Association to support people and students affected by storm No. 3. There are students who have very little money left for living expenses but decided to use all the money they have to support those who are more difficult than themselves. To date, the support fund launched by the Youth Union has received more than 530 million VND. The VNU Youth Union will, on behalf of individuals and organizations that have participated in the donation, send gifts to VNU students affected by the storm and floods, and a part of the funds will be transferred to the provincial Youth Unions to repair and restore schools in the northern mountainous region. After reviewing and visiting students after storm No. 3, the Youth Union and Student Association of VNU decided to give gifts to 182 students at 4 levels (10 million, 5 million, 3 million and 1 million) with a total cost of 430 million.

On September 17, 2024, the VNU Trade Union received 1.8 billion VND from grassroots trade unions to support people affected by floods. The VNU Trade Union committed to doing it for the right purpose and the right people in need. VNU will contribute a part to the general support fund of the Vietnam Education Trade Union, a part will be used to support VNU students affected by the storm, and a part will go directly to the most severely affected people to directly donate to a specific school.
Previously, promoting the tradition of humanity, mutual love and support, the staff and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) had many activities towards the people in the northern provinces that were heavily affected by the recent storm and storm circulation No. 3.
