In his opening remarks at the conference, Associate Professor Dr. Dang Hong Son - Vice Rector of the university - emphasized that the training and care of students is identified as a key task, making an important contribution to improving the quality of human resource training at the university.
Over the years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has continuously innovated the content and form of its training and management, as well as its student care and support, ensuring compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi National University. This has resulted in many encouraging achievements, ensuring the rights and obligations of students and trainees during their studies at the university.
Furthermore, the training and care of students also face many difficulties and challenges in the new context. These include fierce competition among higher education institutions, an increasingly open educational environment, and the need to improve the quality of training services, enhance support and care activities, and create satisfaction for students. This is an inevitable trend in modern university management, in line with the standards of advanced universities in the region and around the world.

In 2025, the university achieved outstanding results in student recruitment: 436 out of 350 master's students were admitted, and 198 out of 180 doctoral students were admitted; international student recruitment continued to increase with 26 students. The university is promoting innovation in admissions counseling, enhancing the role of communication, and announcing early the admission methods for regular undergraduate programs in 2026. Admission methods for specialized high schools, undergraduate, postgraduate, and part-time programs are being adjusted accordingly, striving to achieve 100% of the targets for all systems. Besides traditional admissions, the university is promoting admissions to programs with foreign language subjects to enhance students' ability to meet the internationalization requirements of the training programs, broaden opportunities for student exchange with prestigious universities worldwide, and improve employment opportunities for graduates.
The year 2025 will see significant improvements in student care: perfecting the orientation process, opening online Q&A channels, and reducing administrative procedures. Digitalization will be accelerated with e-lectures, over 200 online classes and LMS; building a question bank for common courses; and the rate of early graduation will increase to 8%.
The postgraduate student support process has been standardized through multiple channels: Zalo, email, and portal. The university has issued five new guidance documents; the master's degree training process is centralized in the Training and Student Affairs Department, and support for doctoral students to fulfill the requirements for thesis defense has been strengthened.
Dr. Dinh Tien Hieu - Head of the Training and Student Affairs Department - presented the Report summarizing the Training and Student Affairs activities in 2025, the direction and tasks for 2026, and the proposal for teaching specialized subjects in foreign languages.
Regarding student welfare, the school effectively implements policies such as tuition fee waivers and reductions, scholarships, business connections, student exchange programs, and mental health care.
In 2026, the university will focus on perfecting the training management process for all programs; adjusting and developing postgraduate programs; promoting 100% digitization of Political Theory courses; innovating assessment methods; implementing the Internationalization Project with 70 foreign language courses, 400 exchange students, and 30 classes with foreign professors. Simultaneously, it will strongly apply digital technology to data management and online services for learners, such as proposing the development of an online enrollment system and an online student performance evaluation system.
In recent years, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has successfully maintained a high-quality faculty, ranking among the best in the country, with 20.4% of faculty holding the titles of Professor or Associate Professor, and 81% holding doctoral degrees. The university has developed a project on teaching and learning specialized courses in foreign languages for the period 2025-2030, organized training courses on teaching specialized subjects in English, and received significant interest from faculty members throughout the university.
