Humanistic Beauty: Female student volunteers to perform military service after graduation

That is Do Hoang Phuong Anh (born in 2001, residing in Zone 15, Hoang Cuong Commune, Thanh Ba District, Phu Tho Province) - the only female citizen who volunteered to join the army and was selected for military service in 2024 in Thanh Ba District. Right after graduating from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, she decided to write an application to voluntarily join the military service.

I met her one day after Tet holiday, when her family was preparing her for the final steps to enter a new environment. When asked where the idea came from when she wrote a volunteer application to join the army, she did not hesitate to answer because of a noble ideal of dedicating her youth to the country, to her homeland.
Since childhood, the image of the soldier has always been beautiful in my mind. The affectionate call of Uncle Ho's soldiers always shines in my soul because both my father and mother are soldiers, both have worked for more than 30 years at the 168th Artillery Brigade, Military Region 2. As the eldest sister in the family, Phuong Anh has been resourceful since childhood, always hoping that the military environment will help her train and mature. She always nurtures the dream of "wearing the green uniform of a soldier to contribute her youth to the Fatherland".

Major Do Cong Tam (Phuong Anh's father) was both proud and worried about his daughter. He shared: “I know that joining the military service is the responsibility of young people for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland, regardless of gender. I feel very proud that my child lives with an ideal, knows how to contribute to the Fatherland and believes that the military environment will help her train her will, the spirit of overcoming difficulties, good health and a more disciplined lifestyle. Before my child's departure, I only know how to encourage her to try hard, maintain her determination to follow the chosen path. No matter what environment or job, we must always try to train and complete well the tasks assigned by the Party, State and Army.”
I wish the former student of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, to successfully complete her military service and fulfill her dream of dedicating her youth to her homeland and country.
