Outstanding cadres strive to develop the Youth Union movement in the era of integration

Nguyen Kim Tung is a specialist working at the Office of the Youth Union - Student Association of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

Perhaps the most difficult time for the Youth Union cadre Kim Tung was when he failed to pass his first choice - his favorite major - and instead chose a new, unfamiliar major that he had not yet studied in depth. At that time, he struggled between continuing or stopping, and hesitated to choose the most correct decision. With the determination and enthusiasm of an 18-year-old boy, he chose to firmly step on a completely new path and has no regrets about that decision.

After 4 years of studying Management Science at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, young cadre Kim Tung was immersed in a dynamic and creative environment. From there, the flame of enthusiasm for the Union and youth movement in him arose and grew over the years.

The young officer said: “Fortunately, when I was most discouraged, my family was always there to encourage me, motivating me to achieve the modest achievements I have today. Thanks to this direction, I have been able to interact and become more involved with jobs related to social work.”

During his university years, he had the opportunity to participate in both the Youth Union and the Student Association, and held the position of Executive Committee Member of the Hanoi City Student Association. Starting from a young man passionate about volunteer activities, his journey included volunteer trips to new lands such as Son La, Ha Giang, Dien Bien, Cao Bang, Nghe An, Quang Tri, etc. Then there were student activities and events such as: Welcome to new students, the Humanitarian Leader program, etc., along with activities to support students' learning and scientific research.

For Kim Tung, the activity that left an impression on him was the journey to bring Mid-Autumn Festival to the children in Lang Nhi, Tram Tau, Yen Bai. The Youth Union officer recalled: “Our team consisted of 15 members, marching through the forest to the school to organize Mid-Autumn Festival for the students. Looking at the sparkling eyes and joy of the children, I felt both tired and proud because I and my teammates had done meaningful things for society.”

The results of the Golden Bell contest organized by the Hanoi City Vietnamese Student Association also served as a message to help student Kim Tung have the motivation to be confident, continue to acquire knowledge to be more steadfast on the path he is taking. As a testament to his efforts, Kim Tung has received many certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association for his outstanding achievements in the Association's work and student movements over many years of study.

In addition to his great love for the green youth uniform, young Party member Kim Tung always strives every day to maintain his role and promote the noble responsibility of an enthusiastic and close-knit Youth Union cadre to students.

Currently, Kim Tung is holding the position of specialist at the Youth Union Office - Student Association of Hanoi National University. He shared: “Fortunately, after graduating from university, I continued to work with the Youth Union and students of the school to cultivate and improve myself. Working in a university, very close to students, perhaps what I learned the most was the spirit of young people, always enthusiastic, vibrant and full of positive energy. Besides, I was exposed to many good models and creative ways of doing things to learn from and continue to develop and explore new solutions.”

In addition to his great love for the green youth uniform, young Party member Kim Tung always strives every day to maintain his role and promote the noble responsibility of an enthusiastic and close-knit Youth Union cadre to students. At the same time, he sets the goal of further promoting activities, attracting and gathering youth union members and students to actively participate in Youth Union activities launched by Hanoi National University and Hanoi City Youth Union, contributing to beautifying the image of Vietnamese youth in the period of innovation and integration.

In addition to supporting Union members, advising and initiating activities for students in the school, the young cadre is also actively involved in the academic field. Recently, at the 2nd Global Vietnamese Young Scientists Conference with the theme "Youth in the context of digital transformation" organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association, he and his colleagues contributed to the topic "Ensuring children's access to education in the current online learning support policy for ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Vietnam" and received a certificate of Outstanding Topic.

The young teacher is most impressed with the saying: “Life arises from death, happiness appears from sacrifices and hardships, in this life there is no dead end, only boundaries, the essential thing is to have the strength to cross those boundaries…”. Perhaps this is the guiding principle for the Youth Union officer whenever he needs advice and he hopes that this message will spread and many young people will feel positive and make constant efforts.
