(Giao Thong Newspaper) Journalist Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, Editor-in-Chief and journalist Nguyen Ba Kien, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper are both former students of class 39 of the Institute of Journalism and Communication.
On the morning of December 12, the Ministry of Transport held a conference to announce decisions on personnel work.
At the conference, Mr. Vu Thanh Trung, member of the Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel (Ministry of Transport) announced the Decisions on appointing leaders of Giao Thong Newspaper and GTVT Publishing House.

The Minister of Transport signed Decision No. 1599 appointing Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper, as Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper. The Minister signed Decision No. 1598 appointing Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien to hold the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper. Also at the conference, the Ministry of Transport issued a decision to re-appoint Mr. Nguyen Minh Nhat to hold the position of Chairman and Director of Transport Publishing House LLC. On behalf of the Party Executive Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Transport sent congratulations to the leaders of the appointed and re-appointed units. Member of the Party Executive Committee, Deputy Minister of Transport Nguyen Danh Huy assessed that these are all factors that receive high trust within the unit and are considered for selection by the Ministry's leaders.

Representing the personnel who were awarded the appointment decision, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga thanked the Executive Committee, Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Transport and leaders of the Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Information and Communications for entrusting her with the important responsibility. “This is both an honor and a great responsibility. In the context that the transport sector and the whole country are striving to achieve the goals set out in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, including the goal of making a breakthrough in transport infrastructure, we understand that the communication task is extremely important,” said Ms. Nga. According to Ms. Nga, good communication will create consensus, contributing to encouraging workers to promote creativity and strive to overcome difficulties to complete assigned tasks. Expressing special thanks to the close guidance of the Party Executive Committee, Party Committee, leaders of the Ministry of Transport and the support of agencies and units in the industry, the Editor-in-Chief of Giao thong Newspaper pledges to work with the leadership and employees to unite, be creative, build an action plan, and successfully carry out the tasks of the new term. Regarding Giao Thong Newspaper, the Deputy Minister said that this is a special agency in appointing leaders this time. According to Regulation No. 101-QD/TW dated February 28, 2023 of the Secretariat, the head of a press agency cannot hold a position for more than two terms. Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien was appointed Editor-in-Chief of Giao Thong Newspaper in November 2013 and has now completed two terms. In order to implement this regulation, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Transport plans to consider and arrange for Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien to be transferred to an equivalent position. However, with the desire to continue to contribute to the newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien has submitted an application to stay as Deputy Editor-in-Chief. Based on his personal wishes and the proposal of the Traffic Newspaper, the Party Committee of the Ministry has agreed to appoint Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Traffic Newspaper. Deputy Minister Nguyen Danh Huy also assessed that in his 10 years as Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien has made great contributions to improving the newspaper's position, both in terms of quality and readership growth. Many new columns and hot issues of the industry and society are promptly reported by the newspaper. The appointment of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga as Editor-in-Chief and Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien as Deputy Editor-in-Chief is to meet the practical and development needs of Giao Thong Newspaper. "The leadership of Giao Thong Newspaper needs to continue to build a strong, united collective with political courage and professional expertise to be able to complete important tasks assigned by the Ministry in the new situation," Deputy Minister Huy directed.

The newspaper will continue to innovate in policy communication, will make breakthroughs in digital transformation to become increasingly friendly, useful, and attractive to readers and deserve to be a bridge between the Ministry of Transport and ministries, branches, and localities, a forum for discussion, listening to opinions, and contributing to effective policy development," Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga pledged. Thus, at present, the leadership structure of Giao Thong Newspaper includes: Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nga, Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Ba Kien, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Secretary of the Party Committee and Mr. Nguyen Duc Thang, Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
