The Literature Faculty Open Drama Night is an annual activity organized by the Literature Faculty. The drama night not only aims to continue the tradition and develop the drama genre - one of the leading literary genres in the literary world, but also creates a playground for students to exchange, learn and demonstrate their abilities in script writing and acting on stage.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Duy Hiep - Former Head of Western Literature Department gave the opening speech at the gala night.

The 9th Faculty of Literature Drama Night with the theme "Dream" marked a milestone in the formation and development of the tradition of drama nights over the past 10 years. The program attracted many lecturers, students and students in the school to attend.

This year's Literature Faculty Drama Night had the participation of the Jury members who are teachers with experience in researching and teaching dramatic works: Associate Professor, Dr. Dao Duy Hiep - Former Head of the Department of Western Literature, Head of the Jury; Master. Tran Thanh Viet - Lecturer of the Department of Folk Literature; Dr. Hoang Cam Giang - Head of the Department of Art Studies, Dr. Nguyen Thuy Linh - Deputy Head of the Department of Western Literature.

In his opening speech at the gala night, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Duy Hiep - Former Head of the Western Literature Department sent his best wishes to the competing teams, and also hoped that the teams would bring all their abilities to make the Drama Night a great success.

At the final round this year, “Ru lai cau ho”, “Rung Truc”, “Chi Pheo – Giac mo chua tat”, “Vinh bien Cuu Trung Dai” were the 4 best plays of the groups in the Faculty of Literature that passed the preliminary round to reach the Gala night. All 4 plays were invested in by the teams in terms of acting and dialogue, creating many emotions and psychological experiences for the audience.

The opening performance of the night was “Dream Villa”, the most favorite play voted online via Facebook. The play touched the hearts of all the audience in the hall with the message: Money means nothing when family happiness is not complete.

The play “Ru lai cau ho” was inspired by the song of the same name by musician Vu Quoc Viet. In this performance, the audience laughed until they cried with the subtle humorous details about the story of an ungrateful husband who abandoned his wife when they were still in difficult circumstances, but when they were poor and hungry, he returned and was accepted.

The play “Chi Pheo – Untold Dream” takes the audience to another level of emotion. The tragic ending of the story Chi Pheo – Thi No by writer Nam Cao was rewritten by students of K61 Faculty of Literature into a happier ending with the reunion between Chi and Thi after 20 years. From the initial humorous details, emotions are gradually pushed to a climax, tragic when Chi Pheo uses his body to take a bullet for his son, who is a soldier of Uncle Ho but he has never had the chance to meet even once.

Meanwhile, “Farewell to Cuu Trung Dai” with its historical elements makes the play imbued with the atmosphere of contemporary reality. The language in the play is concise and meaningful, revealing the personalities and characters of Vu Nhu To and Dan Thiem. The impressive acting, the continuous cheers and screams contribute to creating a space full of terrifying violence, a tragic picture.

With each play, the atmosphere in the hall changed. It can be seen that with only 4 plays, they touched all the emotions in the audience's hearts.

Drama team K60 "Farewell to Cuu Trung Dai" received First Prize.

After the program ended, Pham Van Hai, a former student of K55 of the Faculty of Literature, shared: "This is the 7th time I have sat on the stage of the Faculty of Literature Drama Night, but not as an organizer or a contestant, but as an audience member. This year's drama night has brought me from one emotion to another because of the creativity and sophistication of the contestants. I hope that future generations of students will continue to preserve the tradition of the Faculty of Literature Drama and develop it even more strongly."

The 9th Open Drama Night of the Faculty of Literature ended impressively and successfully with the First Prize going to the play “Farewell to Cuu Trung Dai” by K60 of the Faculty of Literature. “Bamboo Forest” – K59 of High Quality Literature won the Second Prize. Two Third Prizes went to the plays “Ru Lai Cau Ho” – K59 of the Faculty of Literature and “Chi Pheo – Untold Dream” – K61 of the Faculty of High Quality Literature.
