The Faculty of Literature's Extended Drama Night is an annual event organized by the Faculty of Literature. The drama night not only aims to continue the tradition and develop the drama genre – one of the leading literary genres – but also creates a platform for students to interact, learn, and showcase their scriptwriting and stage acting abilities.

Associate Professor Dr. Dao Duy Hiep – Former Head of the Department of Western Literature – delivered the opening speech at the gala night.
The 9th Faculty of Literature Drama Night, with the theme "Dreams," marked a milestone in the formation and development of this drama tradition over the past 10 years. The program attracted many faculty members, staff, and students from the university.
This year's Faculty of Literature Drama Night features a judging panel comprised of experienced lecturers and researchers specializing in drama: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Duy Hiep – Former Head of the Department of Western Literature, Head of the Judging Panel; MSc. Tran Thanh Viet - Lecturer in the Department of Folklore; Dr. Hoang Cam Giang - Head of the Department of Art Studies; and Dr. Nguyen Thuy Linh - Deputy Head of the Department of Western Literature.
In his opening remarks at the gala night, Associate Professor Dr. Dao Duy Hiep – former Head of the Department of Western Literature – extended his best wishes to the competing teams and expressed his hope that they would use their full potential to make the Drama Night a resounding success.
At this year's final round, "Ru lại câu hò," "Rừng Trúc," "Chí Phèo – giấc mơ chưa kể," and "Vĩnh biệt Cửu Trùng Đài" were the four best plays from the Literature Faculty's teams that advanced from the preliminary round to the Gala night. All four plays were meticulously crafted by the teams in terms of acting and dialogue, creating a wealth of emotions and psychological experiences for the audience.

The show opened with "Dream Villa," the most popular play as voted online via Facebook. The play moved all the audience members in the hall with its message: Wealth is meaningless when family happiness is incomplete.
The play "Ru lại câu hò" (Lullaby Again) takes its inspiration from the song of the same name by composer Vũ Quốc Việt. In this performance, the audience was treated to a tearful laugh with the subtly humorous details about a husband who betrayed his wife when they were struggling financially, but returned when they were destitute and accepted back.
The play "Chí Phèo – The Untold Dream" takes the audience to a different emotional level. The tragic ending of Nam Cao's Chí Phèo – Thị Nở story has been rewritten by K61 Literature students into a happier ending with a reunion between Chí and Thị after 20 years. From the initial humorous scenes, the emotions gradually build to a tragic climax when Chí Phèo shields his son, a soldier of Uncle Ho's army whom he never had the chance to meet, from bullets.
Meanwhile, "Farewell to the Nine-Tiered Pagoda," with its historical elements, imbues the play with the atmosphere of contemporary reality. The language in this passage is concise, rich in meaning, and reveals the personalities and characters of Vu Nhu To and Dan Thiem. The impressive acting, the constant shouts and screams, contribute to creating a space filled with terrifying violence, a tragic and heroic scene.
With each play, the atmosphere in the hall changed. It's clear that just four plays managed to touch a wide range of emotions in the audience.

The K60 drama team's performance of "Farewell to the Nine-Tiered Pagoda" won first prize.
After the program concluded, Pham Van Hai, a former student of the K55 Literature Faculty, shared: “This is the 7th time I’ve been on stage at the Literature Faculty Drama Night, but this time not as an organizer or a contestant, but as an audience member. This year’s drama night took me from one emotion to another because of the creativity and sophistication of the contestants. I hope future generations of students will continue to uphold the Literature Faculty’s drama tradition and develop it even further.”
The 9th Expanded Literature Faculty Drama Night concluded impressively and successfully with the first prize awarded to the play "Farewell to the Nine-Tiered Pagoda" by the K60 Literature Faculty. "Bamboo Forest" – K59 High-Quality Literature won second prize. Two third prizes were awarded to the plays "Singing the Lullaby Again" – K59 Literature Faculty and "Chi Pheo – The Untold Dream" – K61 High-Quality Literature Faculty.
