International Culture Day 2023: Exploring multicultural space at Faculty of VNH&TV

This is an opportunity for Vietnamese and international students studying and researching at the Faculty to experience and explore multinational cultural spaces at the Faculty of VNH&TV.
Dr. Bui Van Tuan - Deputy Head of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Language shared: “With the meaning of experiencing, discovering and being a bridge to spread the cultural identity of ethnic groups in the world, the International Cultural Festival has become a "brand" as a cultural playground, creating opportunities for exchange, learning and connection between Vietnamese students and international students.
Understanding and connecting cultures and languages ​​will bring harmony in the soul. These are also the values ​​that the staff and lecturers of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language are silently cultivating through each generation of international students who have trusted and chosen the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Language, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU as a place to study and experience another language and culture, aiming for a "borderless learning environment for Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language". The International Cultural Festival is the most anticipated annual event of all international and Vietnamese lecturers and students every New Year. The activities of the festival aim at the spirit of connection and dissemination, creating an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity between international students and Vietnamese students, between schools and learners, and being a cultural bridge between modernity and tradition. Overcoming all geographical and linguistic limitations, students hold hands together to sing songs and dance about love for their homeland and country and immerse themselves in the multinational musical space of the festival.
This is an interesting and useful playground for each international student and Vietnamese student studying and researching at the Faculty of VNH&TV to express the unique cultural features of their country, ethnicity, and homeland and to experience new cultures, expand their network of relationships, build friendships and improve their ability to use Vietnamese.
They have truly become cultural ambassadors to introduce and promote the unique culture of their nation to friends, teachers and interested people. Through the international cultural festival, students had the opportunity to explore, experience and understand different cultures in the spirit of respect and sharing, while extending sympathy, inspiring learning Vietnamese, expanding networks, building friendships, understanding the culture, country and people of Vietnam.     More than 400 Vietnamese and international students at 12 exhibition booths brought culinary culture and special dishes from European countries (Germany, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, France, etc.), Asian countries (Japan, China, Korea), along with famous dishes from the US, Cuba and more than 10 traditional Vietnamese dishes from students of 4 bachelor courses of Vietnamese studies.
In addition to the culinary program considered the biggest "specialty" of the festival, the 2023 International Cultural Festival also organizes fun and meaningful activities such as: Five-fruit tray display contest, bamboo dance, fashion... Before starting the "Cultural Odyssey" Gala, Vietnamese undergraduate students of the Faculty brought a special recycled fashion program focusing on the theme of ecology and human life, calligraphy (undertaken by foreign students),...
The cultural program with the theme “Cultural Odyssey” along with multinational performances introducing the cultural space of regions in Vietnam and countries and territories around the world attracted special attention from international and Vietnamese students, leaving many good impressions in the hearts of each student.
The Multinational Cultural Exchange Festival not only creates a useful playground for international students but also contributes to bringing world culture closer to Vietnam and is also a place to spread Vietnamese culture and identity to five continents, contributing to strengthening the friendly cooperative relationship between Vietnam and international friends.
