The Prime Ministers of Vietnam and Singapore inspire students to study.

(SVVN) On August 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited Vietnam National University, Hanoi and had lunch with students during the Singapore Prime Minister's official visit to Vietnam from August 27-29.
During the exchange, students from Vietnam National University, Hanoi expressed their interest in Singapore's policies on education, science, technology, and innovation; the digital and green economy partnership between the two countries; the valuable experiences and lessons learned by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on his path to success; policies to promote cooperation between Singaporean and Vietnamese universities, especially in certain areas of research, innovation, and artificial intelligence; and the expectations of leaders for the younger generation. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong frankly shared their views and answered the students' questions.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong stated that Singapore is striving to encourage its citizens to use public transport and reduce the use of private vehicles. This is one way to reduce environmental pollution. But more importantly, it's about how people treat the environment.
Mr. Lee Hsien Loong shared that in Singapore, there are many media campaigns to encourage people to respect principles in protecting the environment. This is also a focus of education for students in schools. Environmental preservation is demonstrated in concrete actions by young people, such as planting trees, caring for and watering plants daily, or working with their families to design green and clean living environments.

However, there are global issues, such as global warming and climate change. Singapore is trying to contribute responsibly to this through concrete actions and by promoting cooperation with other countries.
Student Vu Thu Hang (Foreign Language University, Vietnam National University, Hanoi) asked: "What standards of knowledge and skills do we need to meet the current workforce requirements in the context of developing artificial intelligence?"
According to Lee Hsien Loong, the first and most crucial thing is for young people to study hard, master the expertise of their chosen fields, and never stop learning, because the world will always be changing. Equally important are knowledge and skills, perseverance, resilience, and mental preparation to embrace the developments and changes of the future.
This provides an opportunity for young people from both countries to exchange ideas, learn, and work together.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that the visit of Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is of great significance, creating momentum to promote cooperation in education and training between the two countries, and providing opportunities for students to interact, connect, and enhance their understanding of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Singapore.

President Lee Hsien Loong reminded the students that resources stem from thinking, motivation from innovation, innovation from culture, and strength from the people. He hoped that young people would continue to contribute, continue to learn, cultivate their ethics and knowledge, as well as their passion and responsibility towards the nation and its people. This includes responsibility towards peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.
Speaking with students at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that Vietnam is paying more attention to the fields of digital transformation and green transformation. In particular, solutions to combat climate change are a global issue that all citizens must be concerned about. This also requires global cooperation and deeper cooperation in relations with Singapore – a country with extensive experience in digital and green transformation.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that during his visit to Singapore, the two governments signed cooperation agreements on digital transformation and green transformation. Specifically, these agreements relate to data infrastructure and Singapore's experience in digital management. Regarding green transformation, the two countries will cooperate in exploiting green and renewable energy, such as solar and wind energy, which are Vietnam's strengths. However, effective exploitation requires technology, financial resources, human resources, and management capacity. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that this is a strategic cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore in the coming period.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong stated that the cooperation agreement between higher education institutions in Singapore and Vietnam National University, Hanoi, is a prerequisite for implementing educational, training, and research projects, exchanging staff and students, and developing the digital and green economy.
Mr. Lee Hsien Loong stated that cooperation between the two countries is based on open mutual support. This provides a legal basis, facilitating the exchange of study and work opportunities for young people from both countries, and encouraging the participation of talents, entrepreneurs, and scientists to jointly achieve the goals of the cooperation agreed upon by both countries.

On this occasion, in the presence of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, and Nanyang Technological University (NTU - Singapore) signed an agreement on cooperation between the universities in the fields of staff, lecturer, and student exchange and scientific research.
Following that, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong had a cordial lunch with students from Vietnam National University, Hanoi at the canteen of the University of Foreign Languages ​​(Vietnam National University, Hanoi). There, the two Prime Ministers enjoyed famous traditional Vietnamese dishes such as banh cuon cha (steamed rice rolls with pork sausage), bun thang (noodle soup), Hanoi spring rolls, and com (young sticky rice). The students from Vietnam National University, Hanoi introduced Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong to the beauty of Vietnamese cuisine and cultural values ​​through these dishes.
