As part of a series of activities celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Government's Decree on the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2023) and the successful conclusion of the Student Union Congresses at all levels leading up to the Vietnam Student Union Congress, the Youth Union and Student Union of Vietnam National University, Hanoi are organizing the "VNU's Hot Steps 2023" dance competition with the theme "Techno". This is a healthy and beneficial playground for union members, young people, and students throughout Vietnam National University, Hanoi to have the opportunity to interact, learn, connect, and develop the talents of Vietnam National University, Hanoi students.
Over more than two months of implementation, the competition attracted over 35 teams with more than 600 students from units under the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) registering to participate. After the preliminary and semi-final rounds, the 12 best teams advanced to the final round to compete for the prize, which took place on December 10, 2023, at the VNU Urban Area in Hoa Lac.
In his opening remarks at the final round, Comrade Tuong Van Thuan - President of the Student Union of VNU, emphasized: “VNU's Hot Steps 2023 is not only a playground for VNU students, but more importantly, we want to spread the youthful energy and creativity of our students through each dance step to convey the message about using technology and behaving in the digital environment safely and optimally for students.”

In the final round, competing teams drew lots for props (such as antennas, smartphones, robots, etc.) and then performed with their chosen props in diverse forms, skillfully conveying messages about digital capabilities, the digital environment, etc., closely adhering to the competition's theme. The teams demonstrated creativity and flexibility in expressing the common theme as well as the chosen props, thereby incorporating many messages for the younger generation about using technology intelligently, efficiently, and safely. The competition's judging panel highly appreciated the creativity and consistency of the participating students, with some teams demonstrating high technical skills.


With an impressive performance, the "PEACE Crew" team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities excellently won first place overall. Sharing about their journey to the championship, student Phan Minh Anh - representing the team - expressed: "Our emotions are overwhelming because after months of training, we have reaped the rewards. Through this, the team also wants to convey the message that technology and games are endless sources of inspiration for creativity and exploration."
The overall first prize went to the PEACE Crew team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
The Organizing Committee also awarded two Second Prizes to the "Step Up Dancing Club" team (University of Foreign Languages) and the "UAC" team (University of Education); three Third Prizes to the "Istep" team (International School), the "VOL" team (University of Economics), and the "Huden Crew" team (University of Natural Sciences), along with six Consolation Prizes and one Most Popular Award to the participating teams.
