On August 22th, 2019, Assoc.Prof.Dr Hoang Anh Tuan (USSH's Vice Rector) and representatives of Faculty of Literature, Office for Academic Affairs, Office for Research Affairs, and Office for Cooperation and Development welcomed and worked with the delegation from Fudan University (China) led by Prof. Xu Zheng (Vice President).

At the meeting, Assoc.Prof.Dr Hoang Anh Tuan said USSH and Fudan University have shared academic exchanges and interactions for many years. Up to now, many of USSH's staff and students have participated in programs held by the latter. The Vice Rector expressed his desire for the two universities to continue cooperating in training and exchanging students and lecturers, and also doing other activities such as conducting joint research projects and international publications.

In response, Prof. Xu Zheng thanked the warm reception by USSH and suggested some new ideas for cooperation such as co-implementing a joint master's program in Public Administration; translating and publishing some social sciences and humanities works on the two universities' academic journals, especially those relating to China and Vietnam's history and culture. Representatives of Fudan University also invited USSH's experts to take part in scientific conferences held in Shanghai in the coming time.

After the meeting, the functional units of two universities will continue do discuss the details of said ideas for cooperation in master's training and publishing joint studies.

Fudan University was founded in 1905 and is located in Shanghai. It is a crucial university under the Chinese ministry of education. Fudan University enrolls over 30,000, including full-time students and students in continuing education and online education. There are 28 schools and independent departments with 70 bachelor degree programs, 35 doctoral degree programs . In the 2018 QS Asian University Ranking, Fudan ranks 2nd in China and No. 7 in Asia.
