Prof. Frank Proschan - the American anthropologist with many studies on Vietnam
Prof. Frank Proschan is trained in Anthropology at many prestigious American universities. He has studied about Vietnam and had many works published in reputed journals and publications on Vietnam. He is also an expert in intangible cultural heritage and program specialist at UNESCO, Paris since 2006 to 2015. He has made contributions to the study, preservation and promotion of cultural values of ethnic groups in Vietnam, and also to strengthening the Vietnam-US bilateral friendly relations. In 2004, he was awarded the Friendship Order by President Tran Duc Luong for his professional activities related to the development of Anthropology in Vietnam.
Prof. Frank Proschan currently works at Faculty of Anthropology (USSH, VNU Hanoi) as lecturer under the Fulbright Teaching Scholar Program of the US government, helping to promote the internationalization of the Faculty's research and teaching activities. He is going to teach two classes in the 1st semester of the year 2019-2020: "Culture, preservation and development" and "Scholarly communication in Anthropology". The two classes are joined by lecturers, research staff, research fellows and students of Faculty of Anthropology and those of USSH's other internal and external units, and also by the graduate students from Uppsala University (Sweden) studying in Vietnam under the student and lecturer exchange program.

In addition, Prof. Frank Proschan is donating a collection of selected textbooks and references in English to library of Faculty of Anthropology in order to help promote and improve the quality of its research and training activities according to international standards. He will also provide academic support to the lecturers and graduate students during office hours and assist the Faculty develop its curricula.
