On March 20th, 2019, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH's Rector) and representative of Office for Cooperation and Development welcomed Dr. Richard Collins (Vice Principal of College of Social Sciences and Law, University of College Dublin-Ireland).

At the meeting, Prof.Dr Pham Quang Minh introduced about USSH's strategy of internationalization, including the improvement of cooperation with its international partners. As for Ireland, USSH has soon established relations with such higher education institutions as University College Cork (UCC) - National University of Ireland, and Cork Institute of Technology. Most recently, the University and UCC have collaborated to develop the major International Studies Development, which is expected to become an independent bachelor's program in 2019. The Rector hoped USSH and University College Dublin can implement similar programs. For reference purposes, the Rector referred to some 2+2 and 3+1 training models co-organized by the University and its partners such as Stirling University, Nottingham University (United Kingdom), Zurich University (Switzerland), and University of Toulouse II (France).

In response, Dr.Richard Collins highly appreciated the goodwill of USSH. He said UCD's College of Social Sciences and Law offers many similar programs to USSH's such as politics, economics, sociology, and archaeology at undergraduate level; public policy, social work, education and geo-politics at graduate level. At first, UCD would like to explore the possibility for a joint program in International Development and would as soon as possible exchange further details with the former.

University College Dublin (UCD) was founded in 1854 and is the biggest university in Ireland and among the top 1% universities worldwide. UCD has over 35.000 students and consists of 6 subordinate colleges: College of Arts and Humanities, College of Business, College of Engineering and Architecture, College of Health and Agricultural Sciences, College of Social Sciences and Law, and College of Science.
