At the meeting, Prof. Dr Pham Quang Minh (USSH’s Rector) spoke highly of the efforts made by the two universities towards the signing of a detailed memorandum. This is in line with USSH’s strategy of internationalization and proves to be beneficial to its students. The Rector hoped the memorandum will soon be transformed into concrete activities conducted by the two sides.
Dr Tae Soo Rya expressed his gratefulness for being enthusiastically welcomed by USSH. He said Hanyang Cyber University wishes to open more opportunities for Vietnamese students and trainees to experience new types of learning environments, especially distance learning courses via the Internet. Hanyang Cyber University also wants to cooperate with USSH to help more children of Korean-Vietnamese multicultural families study and work in Vietnam. This will be a practical contribution to developing the Vietnam-Korea bilateral relations in general.
Next, leaders of the two sides signed the memorandum of understanding, according to which the two universities will exchange up to 5 students annually, each of whom will stay at the other side’s university for a maximum of 1 year. Each student of the sending university will receive an academic transcript and a certificate upon the completion of his/her course. The two universities shall provide safe and proper dormitories and living places for the students; or depending on specific provisions, either the sending or receiving university can provide living expenses for the students. The memorandum lasts for 5 years and will be automatically extended without the consent of either side.
